Not sure where everyone stands here but if you are a guy you run with the guys. I saw this on one of my news feeds...
The rest of this conversation should be on the political site. Just thought I would post the college athletic portion here. If the moods want it deleted, I will delete.

I will only say that the normalization of mental illness is in nobody's best interest.

Because it isn’t politically correct to be transgender?

Like I stated, there is a College Athlete side and a political side...

In high school and college I was not an elite runner but would have taken high medals in any women's competition... If not won the events. Males, at least from my involvement, have a major advantage over women. Look at what has happened in several high school competitions around the country. I know the word fair gets thrown around a lot, but this is NOT fair.

Am waiting the post that says, grab the popcorn...

Yeah that does seem unfair. Maybe they will add another classification for transgender athletes someday.

Nah, just rename the men's/women's sports to things like XX-chromosome Basketball, XY-chromosome Track, etc.

If this trend becomes"a thing", I think the ball just started rolling, and if court cases pop up would athletic departments be forced to add a slot for transgenders thus opening up new schollies. The costs would go up and how is that issue met?

SHE HAS TO TAKE TESTOSTERONE BLOCKERS AND TAKE ESTROGEN. SHE ALSO HAD TO TAKE A YEAR OFF. SHE HAS LESS MUSCLE NOW. Make sure you read up on the NCAA policy about this subject.

if you want to debate the fairness of it go ahead but I've read a lot of ****** comments around social media. Calling her an "it" and the like. This is a person. She went to HS in Belgrade. Her mom is Bobcat! So whatever gets typed here, remember her parents might be longtime BN members. Be respectful.

I actually think it is disrespectful to those of us that grew up with boys being boys. I think he is not a she, just a confused guy.

Bingo. But, it's only going to get worse. Revelations-type events like this must happen, and will continue to...

If I decided that I was Jesus Christ, I would be committed, it a delusion and should be treated as such rather than being encouraged.

This is how I feel as well but current hormone levels don't tell the whole story. As we grow up men and women develope different bone structure, lung capacity as well as muscle development. To simply change gender and rebalance hormones after puberty gives you an advantage. I don't know what the answer should be. My heart goes out to true transgender people but this kind of competition really is unfair to women.

Freshman Beatrix Frissell, last seen sweeping the 1,600 and 3,200 meters for Polson High at the Class A state track and field meet in Laurel in May, won her collegiate debut for the Montana cross country team on Saturday morning.

Frissell topped a field of 79 runners at the Clash of the Inland Northwest in Cheney, Wash. She was one of three Grizzlies in the top 10 as Montana opened with a strong second-place showing, finishing three points behind Gonzaga and ahead of Idaho and Eastern Washington.

Senior June Eastwood finished seventh, senior Samantha Engebretsen came in ninth.

NCAA rule seems to have an effect.

If she ran like she once did, she would of won this race by almost 2 minutes.

Couldn't work in any more female pronouns?
