It's not good. The venue in Hillsboro is not a bad facility, and it's the appropriate size for PSU football. It's certainly no worse than the small stadiums of EWU, SUU, and Northern Colorado. It's a City owned facility-not a high school stadium as some think-though many high schools play games there. It's got good parking and good concessions-including beer. But it's way out in the burbs, and Providence Park in downtown Portland is a million times better for them. PSU's coach points out that their home field uncertainty is killing their recruiting.

But they are still a few dollars away from dropping football.

Have been to six of the BSC venues, naturally Reno H Sales in my days (BOBCAT STADIUM), griz, Hornet Stadium, Aggie Stadium, Alex G Spanos Stadium, and the Kibbie Dome. The others I have seen on the tube. A few of the others look medium sized by high school standards. Some look very unimpressive and would seem to hurt recruiting for anyone not a "homeboy". How would some of you rate them in comparison to the Vikes venue?

That article was very interesting. I'd like to see what those two really say to each other. There was a tension-filled passive-aggressive tone throughout!
Tough situation for sure. We're very lucky.

Hillsboro Stadium is perfect for PSU in every way...except that it's in Hillsboro. It's just as nice as the other small stadiums in the league, but the others have the massive advantage of being on their respective campuses. PSU just has zero leverage in this situation.

Since "many high schools play games there", why cannot two high schools in Bozeman share a nice little stadium?

Providence Park isn’t on their campus either. It’s close but with the Timbers/Thorns being the main draw it will be difficult to compete on $$$$.

Awk—you are right of course. My brain went off somewhere.
