Just be thankful he didn't kill anyone. Based on this and his on field antics he has behavioral issues. Hopefully UM has a program to get him help.

Re: Strahm Arrested for DUI
Didn't Joey Counts get suspended 1 game after he got a DUI last summer? I'm pretty sure he did, even though he got his trial pushed out to after football season ended.St George wrote:He will get off and not miss any football, Half the attorneys in Mizzoula will see to it.
But I'm not 100% sure.

I'm pretty sure he was suspended 3 games because it was his "second offense" until his trial after football season, which would have been his 3rd offense.91catAlum wrote:Didn't Joey Counts get suspended 1 game after he got a DUI last summer? Per UM's current policy, he should miss one game. What is their "patsy" game this year?blueandgoldblitz wrote:I'm pretty sure he was suspended 3 games because it was his "second offense" until his trial after football season, which would have been his 3rd offense.91catAlum wrote:Didn't Joey Counts get suspended 1 game after he got a DUI last summer? Re: Strahm Arrested for DUI
I've wondered about that policy. If the players have to be suspended for "10% of their games that year for a 1st offense", in an 11 game season, that's 1.1 games. If they only suspend him for one game, then technically, he's not serving his full suspension. He should be suspended for 2 games (or the UM staple of 1 game and 1 quarter). Is that nitpicking? Of course it is. But if you're going to put something in your disciplinary policy like "10% of games" then you should at least follow it to the letter.HelenaCat wrote:Per UM's current policy, he should miss one game. Does the student code weigh how drunk the driver was? Does a .081 carry the same penalty as a .261?
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

FYI... In Idaho he would have gotten enhanced dui with a lot stiffer penalty. And Utah the limit now is 0.05....

Some cities in Montana have enhanced penalties over .16
Maybe refer to it as an aggravated DUI?
Nonetheless, it will be a one game suspension minimum if guilty.

In most college football programs this guy would be replaced on the depth chart and suffer some serious consequences. In zoo town he'll receive free legal representation, sit out one game and praised as great young man who deserves a second chance. Hey it's football over everything else!!!

Re: Strahm Arrested for DUI
I disagree. There is a huge difference in how much of a danger a person presents to other people, if he has a .081 BAC versus a .261. I know that you may have been only half serious in saying that, but I've always believed that the penalties for DUI should be weighted, dependent upon the person's BAC.Cat_gld wrote:That's like being a little bit pregnant.TomCat88 wrote:Does the student code weigh how drunk the driver was? Agree, and I'd take that a step further and tell you that I could drink four beers and still drive better than a LOT of people on the road that are completely sober, so how is that fair?John K wrote:I disagree.
