Who's better: UND or EWU?

UND has the best defense in the league in a runaway, but EWU is equally good on offense. No way to find out for sure unless they meet in the playoffs. I see EWU getting a top 4 seed and I see UND getting a seed between 5-8. So a quarterfinal game could be in the cards if for instance EWU is the #3 seed and UND is the #6.

EWU is the better team. They can score on anybody, and their defense has shown the ability to shut teams down in the 2nd half of games.

I am completely confident EWU would beat UND by 20+, whetherat home or the road. I've watched both teams quite a bit this year and EWU is superior. I think EWU has a legit shot at a national title.

I think UND is as close to a carbon copy of NDSU as there is in FCS football in that they don't put up any spectacular numbers, but they're consistently good from week to week. I think you're selling them short. Their defense has been lights out. They have two very good running backs that bring two different styles to the field. They've been grinding teams down all year and are getting better as the season progresses. Their two losses were narrow. The Stony loss was a fluke. I think it would be a great matchup. Unfortunately we may never know.

They haven't really beat up on anyone though, like an NDSU has or an EWU has. They only beat ISU by 7, only beat MSU by 2, only beat Weber by 8, only beat NoCo by 10, only beat South Dakota by 3, and only beat CP by 7. I'd also they aren't as battle tested at NDSU or an EWU as their schedule has favored them. If they beat up on NAU this Saturday, then I think they are better than I give them credit for. I think NAU may take it to them in their own house.

To add to that: All of UNDs "tough" games came at home (other than StonyBrook) and their road schedule has been through the little sisters of the poor (MSU, Sac, ISU, UNC) They've only played one top 20 team (Poly) and maybe 2 more top 50 (Weber & Stony Brook). The USD win looks a little flukey-2 pick sixes, one of which sent the game to OT. UND is looking solid, but they are a long way from a top 5 team.
EWOO, on the other hand, played NDSU tough, beat UNI (which the computers think is a top 20 team), crushed UM, and walloped Cal Poly in SLO. That is a very impressive schedule. Oh, and did I mention that EWOO beat a WSU team that is currently #25 at 7-2 and that controls its own destiny in the Pac 12 North.
UND looks good, but EWOO is playing lights out against one of the toughest schedules in all of FCS. I'd take EWOO by 2 scores if they played in Grand Forks. By 3 scores in Cheney.

Agree completely with everything you just said. Spot on. I think UND loses to NAU at home Saturday because of all those things you just laid out.

If UND had the offense that Eastern has UND would win a National Championship

We would probably lose by two touchdowns, imo. The one chance we would have is if we had a few interceptions and no turnovers, and UND has the most or almost the most interceptions in the country. Their offense is just too good. I think Eastern Washington is the best team in the country, and we aren't even close at this point.

But you're getting there. That's exciting. What bubba has achieved there is huge. A tough, blue collar defense who makes you earn it. If he ever gets the offense on the same level, watch out. I like to see UND succeed.

Even when they move to the MVFC?
I watched EWU beat NDSU in every way but the scoreboard in Fargo at the start of the season. Would love to see a rematch.
I think UND gets rolled by NDSU. and EWU. and IF there is a EWU/NDSU rematch, it'll be like the UM/NDSU series last year

No they wouldnt, they would have to play NDSU and lose just like the last 6 teams did.

EWU might be the best team I've seen in 10 years.
