EWU Injuries Mount UP
Eastern had two starting linebackers and offensive lineman injured in the Washington State game who were not available for NDSU. Then lost their starting stong safety for the season vs. NDSU plus Kupp went down with a grade 1 (least serious) shoulder separation. The linebackers, lineman and Kupp are listed as "questonable" this week vs. tough Northern Iowa in Cheney. The following week they get Northern AZ.

Injuries have been brutal this year...but at least only one for the season. I'd guess most of the questionable players, Kupp included, won't play this week. Eastern should be fine against UNI even without those players, and it would be nice to have some healthy players going into conference season.Mr Lisle wrote:Eastern had two starting linebackers and offensive lineman injured in the Washington State game who were not available for NDSU. Wait-it sounded like you just said that EWOO would be just fine without Kupp against UNI.marceag wrote:Injuries have been brutal this year...but at least only one for the season. Gubrud just got benched for Hennessey mid way thru the 3rd. After throwing his 2nd pick.
Uni up 24-14. They led 24-7 at half.

Another EWU TD, and they take the lead early in the 4th 28-24. What a comeback after being down 17 at half.

OMG what a call and what a play! EWU down by 2, drives down into FG range. Into a very stiff wind, they line up for a 40 yard FG with 45 seconds left. Fakes it and throws to a wide open TE over the middle for a TD.
Baldwin is a gambler!
PAT no good. 34-30, 43 seconds remain.

Re: EWU Injuries Mount UP
EWU beats UNI without Kupp. UND beats USD and Cal Poly beats SDSU on the road. UM beat UNI on the road last week. Maybe the BSC isn't so bad after all. Or maybe the MVFC isn't so good...beyond NDSU.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

As in most cases, it's a little of both. I think UNI is over ranked. It'll all flesh itself out. One thing I noticed yesterday is EWU probably has the best receiving corps in the nation. Good thing they are mostly all seniors...Bourne, Hill, Kupp...TomCat88 wrote:EWU beats UNI without Kupp. UND beats USD and Cal Poly beats SDSU on the road. UM beat UNI on the road last week. I remember saying that 4 years ago when EWU had 3 WRs declare for the draft...Common Cat wrote:As in most cases, it's a little of both. I think UNI is over ranked. It'll all flesh itself out.
