Re: Griz beat UNI
There were two turnovers in the game and they were, both committed by UNI. Plus, the girlz had a punt return for a touchdown.catsack wrote:Offense stunk it up defense pulls off victory!

Oh boy is our D gonna be good the next couple years! Havent a whole lot of complaints about the game. Offense wasn't stellar but did the job considering our receivers are still getting in sync with Gus. My prediction is last half of the season we start putting up the points and our defense allows even less.

One of those turnovers was on the last play of the game when UNI was tossing it all over the field hoping for a miracle.Cledus wrote:There were two turnovers in the game and they were, both committed by UNI. Didn't Bryant turn it over 5 times against you guys today in your 27-24 win?

Griz D is championship caliber
Griz O needs lots of work

Looks like there was plenty of empty seats in the UNI-Dome, which surprised me, especially after their big win last week.

There were a lot more as the game went on. Probably left to go watch Iowa-ISU after they realized it wasn't going to be the blowout they were hoping for.Rich K wrote:Looks like there was plenty of empty seats in the UNI-Dome, which surprised me, especially after their big win last week.

griz logic: northern Iowa beat Iowa state
- griz beat northern Iowa
- Iowa state loses to Iowa 42-3
- griz would easily beat Iowa Hawkeyes
- griz beat northern Iowa

Big win for the conference. Griz look very good on the defensive side of the ball. The UNI quarterback can't throw the football at all and the Griz must have picked up on that the way they played them. I didn't see a safety more than 7 yards off the ball on most plays.

Re: Griz beat UNI
The Griz win and the EWU near-win (both on the road) are both very good things for the conference. We need some wins like that to set up the rest of the season (when everyone starts beating up on each other during conference play).
It is amazing that the Griz won despite that offensive effort -- speaks volumes about the caliber of their defense.

Good win by UM.
Looks like the days of Bobby Ball when they just got enough to pull it off.
If you are a Griz you have to be happy to have the road win.
BSC is looking much more competitive nationally than last year at this point in the season.

Exactly on the UNI Quarterback. You stop him from running you can beat UNI (He does not have a very good arm). Teams will stack the box against them for the rest of the year and make him beat them with the pass. We will see how they progress through the season.TacoCorpEBDB wrote:Big win for the conference. That Griz D must be pretty stout. Will be interesting to see how they hold up against some of the passing attacks of EWU, NAU, etc. Thw worst thing about that game? I lost a %&#$ bet to Alphie! AG - I owe you a bottle of booze, nice win. Will hook up with you at Cat\Griz or PM me if you know which Cat games you're going to and we'll meet up then

Re: Griz beat UNI
Weird game but the Griz D made the plays necessary to overcome their inept offense.
206 total yards? That must get better if they want to be national contenders.

Northern Iowa travels to play EWU this weekend. One will come away with two losses on the year. Props to both for playing tough schedules.

I will, unless you want to go double or nothing on the Cal Poly game..................catatac wrote:That Griz D must be pretty stout. I wouldnt if I were you because we are going to kick their fu*king ass @ CP
Griz have never had anything remotely close to the defense we have this year with Semore, and we are not even starting Nelson and Sanders. If our DL stays healthy its going to be record breaking and I cant wait to play EWU on that red ****** field they wont put up 40+ and 500 yards of offense like they did on that Bison sieve defense.
