FCS 12 game Regular Seasons

The Ohio Valley Conference and the Southland Conference submitted legislation to be voted on to allow for 12 game regular season starting in 2017. About dang time!

I know. With the joke we have to put up with called the "playoffs" I can't wait to see what happens.

I've always felt that this would be a good idea. Of course, a deep playoff run may put a lot of stress on the players by going through a 16-17 game season, but it should be a good thing overall. It would be great to start a week earlier than FBS and have an all-FCS week. The other thing that a 12-game regular season would do is fix the scheduling problems for MSU. We would have 4 games instead of 3, which means there could be an FCS road game available every year. Home-and-home series would be much easier to get, and we may not have to worry about the D-2 game anymore. I like this idea.

I say 12 reg. season games and cut the playoffs to 16... and sell the rights to anyone but ESPN.

They could also look at moving the playoffs back a week for a little more rest from the regular season. Playing on Thanksgiving weekend means poor attendance and not to mention players don't get time with their families over the holiday.
