Stitt on KRTV
Saw the interview of Stitt on the Krtv sports broadcast. He commented that it was really too bad some kids chose to not run out of the hallowed tunnel for a few thousand bucks. He said they chose instead not to be champions. What an arrogant pr@#k. I didn't understand why people didn't like him. I know now. Wow! Would have been a good opportunity to wish some young men good luck with their choice. Seemed to be implying they chose MSU but didn't actually state it.

How about they wanted an undergraduate degree worth more than toilet paper? Does that count, Stitt?Mtcatfan wrote:Saw the interview of Stitt on the Krtv sports broadcast. Anyhow, according to Vim, Stitt made the same offers to almost all of our top MT recruits. Goodness could that guy be anymore of a jerk?

I smelled narcissistic prick all over that guy from day one. I'm glad it's not just me. There have been some very classy grizz coaches over the years but he is not one of them.

Stitt comes off as a real douchbag. In the end he might make Bobby Hauck look like a saint.

I for one am glad he's douchebag. Makes it even that easier to dislike that program and that school.

It would be awesome if the MSU couches troll him every year. Always offer a little more than Stitt just to piss him the hell off. I think the dude's head would explode.

Re: Stitt on KRTV
Here is the rest of his statement: "You can't put a price tag on playing for the Griz. Some chose to take the money and others chose to be the best." Seriously??? The arrogance is unbelievable. I guess everybody should want to walk on that team. If I was a recruit, I would ask myself, does Stitt really understand the value of a college scholarship to a young man?
By the way, interesting stat: Griz signees from Arizona: 7; from Montana: 5. Apparently more Arizona kids recognize the "honor" to be a Griz in contrast to the Montana recruits! Seems to me the Montana kids didn't see the same value of running "out the tunnel"! Hahaha!

Stitt on KRTV
Stitt is no dummy. He is playing to his audience. He really doesn't care what you think.
Winning is the best recourse. Do what you can to help that happen and save yourself the grief. Their winning has allowed them to developed their current attitude and our winning is the only thing that will change it.

Re: Stitt on KRTV
The only thing that Stitt proves with these comments is that he is an arrogant egotistical a-hole. Kids will understand that he does not care about their well being, he is concerned with himself. He pretty much said that Montana kids should want to play for the Griz for less money while he will shower out of staters with money. Like Choate said, own the state! Stitt is helping him accomplish that and fans will appreciate a team of home grown boys.77matcat wrote:Stitt is no dummy. He is playing to his audience. He really doesn't care what you think.

Not a phycologist but it appears to me a large number of griz posters don't have a life and live vicariously through their team. Your whining crates fodder for their gratification.

Very interesting argument. This would be a great angle to play when recruiting Montana in the future.Cataholic wrote: Kids will understand that he does not care about their well being, he is concerned with himself. Yep just wait. That theme will start to spread across the state to the high school coaches as well. He could be their 'Earle' for sure as Earle made the same mistake recruiting in Montana (burned bridges). That really shows how he treats Montana recruits coming in (i.e. Bob Stitt Corporate - your just a number if your from Montana. You can take less and like it).Cataholic wrote:The only thing that Stitt proves with these comments is that he is an arrogant egotistical a-hole. Re: Stitt on KRTV
"Their winning"... what exactly? The brawl? I will give them that, Stitt is 1 and 0 against us with Ash at the helm. Kudos. We'll see how he fares against Choate and Co. (For the Griz fans out there, no - I am not predicting anything, let's just see how things shake out.)77matcat wrote:Stitt is no dummy. He is playing to his audience. Stitt's Griz are 8-5, which I believe is much in line with Stitt's lifetime winning percentage. (Ash's was considerably higher, for the record.)
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Re: Stitt on KRTV
Funny how a year has changed many of your opinions on our coach. Was just going through some old posts here from when Stitt was first hired, throughout spring camp, summer and the first NDSU game. Lot's of praise for his classiness and lots of jokes made about his ability to coach at our level. What it amounts to is you would like him a lot more if he sucked as a coach, didn't take our team into the playoffs and we got our butts kicked by you in the brawl.
Stitt means business, either you are 110% in as a player or part of his staff or you can hit the road. I'm glad to have him, enjoy his fire and passion and look forward to a much improved team a couple of years down the road.

Re: Stitt on KRTV
I agree with your post. My opinion of him actually has swayed in the past several months. I don't hate the guy, and I certainly don't dislike him as much as Hauck, but some of his comments and the way he's handled certain thigns with the media, players, etc... I lost some respect for him. No big deal on that, we all have our opnions.GRIZ1STCATS2ND wrote:Funny how a year has changed many of your opinions on our coach. Regarding Stitt's approach, time will tell whether he improves the Griz program on not. He's certainly making drastic changes (someone told me that over 50 players are now gone from the program since Stitt was hired.

) Drastic changes like that don't always lead to improvement... even a few years down the road."
I agree but am certainly optimistic. What I do know is he has taken over the ship. If it sinks it's on his shoulders. I think he has spent a lot of time pondering NDSUs program and trying to figure out ways to be that kind of team, not the mediocre and inconsistent one we have been in recent times. This year was ok, considering the variables but I don't think "ok" is good enough for him.
