I think he may have been a Heisman finalist had he not been cheap-shotted by the EWU player in the first game and had his finger broken.

He almost beat Michigan State with a broken index finger on this throwing hand in East Lansing. That final deep ball that sailed on him would have been the game-winner and set him on a path to NYC.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

What a ride

And if he was 3" taller and 30 lbs heavier, he might play on Sundays. But he's small & injury prone. If he hadn't been hurt against EWU he would have been against someone else.

It was bat spit crazy to ever even think that VA was going to make it through a season in the Pac 12. no one has questioned his skill (or his toughness-he played through the broken finger & a broken foot last year), only his size & fragility.

Was a bad move to start him against his old team. Just begged for something to happen.

A broken finger isn't really a "fragility" issue. Chuck Norris' finger would break just as easily as mine. It was a random injury that could have happened to any player, no matter what their physique.

Oregon is so fortunate they snagged him last season or they would have finished the season as one of the worst teams in the Pac 12.

Didn't get drafted but is trying out for the 'Hawks and the Redskins:

I hope he gets picked up by Seattle!

I can't believe no one took him as a 7th rounder, and if you go back and look at the QB's drafted it's pretty vanilla. 1 of those 2 will take him, too much upside even though he's small.

I'm thinking there's more than just size working against him. He struggled to pass remedial math, has there been any mention of his Wonderlic score?

i think you're correct. He's going to spend a lot of time in the show, maybe like Jamie Martin or the Idaho duo, Fritz and Neummeir, but he'll spend a lot of time in the NFL. It amazes me how many people from our conference in general and that other place 200 miles to our west want to see him fail. Has a gizzly ever taken a single snap in an actual game at the next level?

Cat Grad - You are joking right? I had to sign up for an account just to make sure you are actually kidding about Griz not being in the NFL?

Under center. A quarterback. I don't know of a single grizzley to have taken a snap as a quarterback in the NFL.

I understand now, my mistake. Others would know probably know better, but I'm thinking Brent Pease certainly did. Not sure if Dave D ever took a snap outside of preseason.

And don't forget Colt Anderson under center for the worst fake punt in history in the Colts vs. Pats

Do you know what his actual math course was, or are you just making things up?

Here's his combine bio -- the Wonderlic is "N/A." Can guys opt out of that?

http://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage ... ms&i=21896

If he did opt out, then that probably does point to a potential red flag.

He was a recreational management major at EWU so whatever class he failed it almost certainly wasn't a technically advanced class, so it's entirely possible that he has some kind of learning disability and struggles with some of the academic disciplines. It doesn't seem to impact him on the field, but you never know what strange things the scouts will focus on.

At the end of the day, though, his lack of height does seem to be a deal breaker for most teams ... they just really, really like certain minimum physical requirements.

Its aboat time he headed north, eh? Not exactly Perdition, but a good place to actually play. Wouldn't be the first to hone his craft up there before his NFL debut.

Looks like he's after Lulay's job

http://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/report- ... ot-signed/

John Keim of ESPN reported that tryout player Vernon Adams the Oregon gunslinger could be headed North of the Border. According to Adams himself, he will likely sign with the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League
