TOTAL luck by the griz...

ISU at the 22 for a FG and the snap went over/past the holder. The griz recover and flip it to a defensive player that runs it in.....33-27 griz

After 25 years of these things, is it really luck anymore? Seems more like fate.
Just when I thought I'd seen it all, that happens. The good news is it still gives the 'Cats a chance to knock the Griz out of the playoffs in two weeks.

I don't get that not being a forward pass or advancing a fumble. I'd love an explanation. Guy clearly scooped it forward to a teammate intentionally. Any rules experts out there?

#18 never controlled the ball and it is a free ball until it is possessed. He merely batted the ball up and #3 gained control and snapped victory from the jaws of defeat. In the field of play It is okay to bat the ball in an attempt to gain control. This happens a lot on onside kick attempts.

I appreciate the explanation. Explain the Griz luck now.

Man, what a mess of a game. Players, coaches, refs, fans, announcers - it was like everyone was drunk or ripped. Or maybe that was me. Regardless, it was a painful few hours.
BUT, wow. that play was exactly what this team needed, Even though it was total luck, that play in addition to a healthy Gustafson next week could flip this into a dangerous team. Although, I won't be surprised with anything this team does or does not do.
cant wait to watch the Kramer presser - the gloves are officially off I assume.

As soon as it happened, I turned to my wife and said "griz luck." I can't explain it, but I know it when I see it. That was it. So bizarre.

Ya as much as you all were so full of yourselves with your first win, now you are as well with barely squeaking by beating a team that has a 3-7 or so record. Wow you guys rock.

"griz luck". It's real. Comes about as a result of a deal with the devil.

People and teams make their own luck its a result of hard work and mental toughness.

How are you mentally tough when the opposing center sails the snap high and wide? I think the opposite is true - ISU peed down their leg.

I'd agree with this. Had ISU kicked it good, people would be remembering the griz fumble during OT. Griz had nothing to do with that last play, it was not "Griz Luck" or them being superior, it was plain and simple bad luck for ISU and found fortune for the Griz. Remember Poly crushing a last second field goal in Wa Griz and Weber winning in Missoula? This years Griz team has had some major injuries, wildly inconsistent play, and extra curricular activities that cause you to scratch your head. They are an average big sky team. People aren't scared of the Griz like they use to be. Just plain and simple.

Our presence in the dome MADE that play. They know who the big dog is and they choked because of it.
Mental toughness, if I have to explain it to you..........well.................

The Griz got a win on a cellar dweller team. And sure enough Alpha is back. It's what he does.

The Griz did get lucky on that bad snap, but at the same time ISU was in a position to win the game with that FG attempt due to what is probably an equally lucky break of recovering a fumble when the Griz were about to score a TD.
So the Griz were really "unlucky" to almost give the game away, and then really "lucky" to have ISU prove that they were far better at giving the game away.
Fun ending to watch either way ... I just had to shake my head when I saw that snap go sailing from the video feed of the guy holding the camera in the stands (or however ISU does their local cameras).

Funny, ISU is one of the top 3 teams in the BSC and they are coached by the best coach in the BSC the last 15 years.
Sorry facts hurt you guys the way they do, but at least you will have some time to deal with it in a couple weeks.
