Gators over #3 Ole Miss

Post by WolfPtCat » Mon Oct 05, 2015 11:06 am

I was at the game. The energy inside the stadium was pretty amazing. Not many Gator fans thought they would win...just hoped to stay competitive. Talk about a pleasant surprise (understatement) for 90k fans.

Stadium & game were exciting. Tailgating was so/so....not really any single gathering spot. People were tailgating in any open lots/grass/parking garages. I like MSU's set-up better.

They like them some McElwain...he sounded very genuine in all of the pre-game radio coverage. He did a great job at CO State the last few years. Isn't he a Montana guy...with hi-line ties?

He was raised in Missoula (don't know whether he played for Sentinel or Hellgate), played for Eastern Washington, was Cliff's Offensive Coordinator and somehow got involved with the Petrinos at Louisville. Then he went to Alabama with Saban and got Billy Napier to go to CSU for one year with him. You have to wish him the best because he's paid his dues.

Sentinel, was my bros QB in the late '70's. His family has a cabin on Flathead next to ours.....Frank his dad was a long time school administrator in Missoula and his sister works at the U of M.

He's spent enough time in the south then. I noticed in his post game interview that he has a bit of a southern drawl... :)

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

he was also the oc at fresno state for pat hill. at the time, he was asked to interview for the msu job in the search that yielded coach ash....but he felt it wouldnt be fair to coach hill to bail out after just taking the job
