McQueary put on a passing clinic in his first MT Tech game, unexpectedly routing msu-NORTHERN 58-14. He completed 90.5% of his passes, second best in Tech history (91.6). Tech plays Carroll in Butte this saturday.

He's a damn good QB. Wish he would have stuck with us, but I don't blame him one bit.

Like I said in the post I made about him becoming the starter, he was just here at the wrong time. He could start for us in a different year. I wish him well there though.

McQueary is a stud, and he is gonna light up the frontier conference.

I told some of my Butte buds and Tech supporters that McQueary would INSTANTLY make that team a better team and much more competitive. They didn't think he would make that big of a difference. They have admitted they were wrong. Tech is once again a contender.

My brother has an engineering degree from Tech and returned to Butte to retire (wife's family connection), plus he just plain loves Butte+Montana. Anyway, he's always remained a Tech supporter, went to the game, and called me all excited. He doesn't think they ever had a qb like McQueary. Said maybe he should have been looking "up, like the guy from Eastern Washington".
I explained that as far as I'm concerned he's welcome to return to the Bobcats any time he wants.

I saw him play in the Shrine game and was very impressed. One game against Northern does not a career make. I think he will be very successful but I will bet his stats drop considerably this week.

Good point, it was just one game and it was just Northern. I don't think Quinn will complete 85% of his passes again when he plays Carroll this weekend. But I believe he will be one of the best players in the frontier this season.

I'm sure he's a stud, but the Tech backup QB Reardon? was 9 of 11 or 82%

9 of 11 for minus 40 yards, according to the gazette!!! LOL, I highly doubt that.
Wow, accurate stats for Frontier games are tough to come by.
Havre Daily News:
Passing: McQueary 18-21-246-0, 3 TDs; Reardon 6-8-70-0, no TDs.
Rushing: McQueary 6-35, nothing for Reardon.
GF Tribune:
McQueary 19-for-21 passing for 255 yards and 2 TDs ??
Reardon 6-for-8 passing for 70 yards and 1 TD
Gazette:
McQueary 17-20-249-0, 3 TDs; Reardon 9-11-(minus 40)-0, no TDs.
Rushing: Reardon 4-(minus 20), McQueary 5-(minus 28) !!! I highly doubt those rushing numbers also...
I saw a lot of Reardon at HHS. He is a good player, a serviceable guy. I just don't think that he has the same talent level as McQueary. Its just my opinion, which may not even be fair as I'm basing it on Reardon in high school, and McQueary beyond high school (Shrine game and at MSU).
Its too early to tell anything. Lets see how McQueary looks against Carroll this weekend, which will be a much tougher test for him. Carroll just knocked off the defending champs, so they must be tough again.

Would not surprise me if he has a great year. He is definitely talented enough and it appears Tech has recruited a bunch of very good MT HS players over the last few years. It should be an interesting game this weekend.
