Bleacher report just posted that he passed his math test! Can't believe it was that hard. Why would you put yourself on that position!!

All over the internet at this point. I can't imagine recreational management majors have to take a very hard math class. Part of me is glad he moved on but I would have liked to take another shot at EWU this year with him as the QB. Oh well that is the way it goes. Good luck to him at Oregon.

I'm glad he finally passed. I'm not sure if his previous failure was due to him not putting in the work or whether he just has a learning disability of some kind, but I'd hate to see him miss out on his season over it.

That said, apparently it's insanely easy to get into grad school at Oregon ... if you are a good football player.

Most math placement testing failures are due to not studying before hand. People think they can breeze through them.

Any word on how he's doing at practice? Is he starting to understand the playbook?

Supposedly pretty well.
Oregon wide receiver Dwayne Stanford said Adams' first day was a productive one and that he looked good in his first day as a Duck. "He looked really good. Made throws....getting the ball where it needs to be. He looked good today."

CB Arrion Springs on Adams' first day: http://www.dailyemerald.com/2015/08/14/ ... -football/

"I was impressed,” Springs said when asked about how Adams performed during his first practice with the team. “Some of the balls were just dimes. Jesus Christ man."

Today's report: http://registerguard.com/rg/news/334106 ... d.html.csp

“He came in and I have been impressed with him the first three days,” offensive coordinator Scott Frost said Monday during his first public comments since Adams joined the team. “He doesn’t show signs of being rusty or out of shape, he has picked things up real quick. Combined with our other guys playing well, I feel good about that spot.”

“Vernon is impressive,” safety Tyree Robinson said. “He’s been making some nice throws and he’s looking very good without pads. We’ll find out what he really has in the scrimmage.”

FWIW: I think Tyree Robinson will find out what VA really has in his first scrimmage! And he might just be a little frustrated at safety.

FWIW Tyree Robinson practiced against Marcus Mariota, and played against Jameis Winston and Brett Hundley (all playing in the NFL this year). He also defended against Sean Mannion (all time PAC 12 passing leader, and by the way, also playing in the NFL this year). And Taylor Kelly and Connor Holliday. Its a little bit of a stretch to think that VA is going to be "frustrating" DBs anytime soon.

we can disagree

Robinson has faced great QBs for sure, but even Mariota (a better QB than VA) does not have the elusiveness of VA. He's bigger and faster, but not as frustrating.

I don't think it's a stretch at all to say the VA will be frustrating DB's in the Pac12, because the truth is he already has. I'm not saying he will dominate, but he will frustrate guys.

Just ask Oregon State and Washington

Glad you mention Mannion. Don't you remember the head-to-head game with Mannion and VA at QB? Stat line:
EWU 49 #25Oregon State 46
Passing
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT QBR
S. Mannion 37/43 422 9.8 3 0 93.9
V. Adams 23/30 411 13.7 4 0 97.2

Rushing
CAR YDS AVG TD LG
Mannion 0 0 0 0 0
V. Adams 16 107 6.7 2 19

Offensive summary:
Mannion 422 Yds 3 TD
Adams 518 Yds 6 TD

VA passed for more yards, threw more TD's, ran for more yards and TD's, and had a higher efficiency and QB rating than Mariota, Mannion, Kelly, and Holliday against those common opponents (except for Mariota vs OSU 2014 had a higher QB rating and almost the same pass eff. 77%, even tho VA had more yards and TDs). I'm not saying VA is better than them all, but it's a stretch to say that VA won't be doing any frustrating of DB's -- those were the same teams he faced, the same DB's. Therefore, not a stretch IMO.

And he did all of that against those defenses without nearly the supporting cast that a Pac 12 team would have. He definitely had some amazing games against those Pac 12 teams.

I'm not sure how much he will be set back by his inability to pass his math class the first time around, but I definitely think he has the potential to do very, very well in the Oregon system. I hope he does, but we shall see.

I think Adams will do well in the PAC 12 this year and outside of week 1, I hope he shines...

It will be interesting to see how he does when Oregon will be the main focus (FCS teams tend to get overlooked) for the opposing teams defense. Wash and OSU played pretty vanilla in terms of game plans against EWU, it will be interesting to see a team like MSU in week 2 go up against VA when he will be a huge focal point, should he start. It will also be fun to see how he does with better overall talent on the offensive side of the ball, although Kupp is pretty damn good...
