31-0.
Why are they an 8 seed? I don't care how "easy" their schedule might be. An 8 seed is an insult.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

I suppose not. I'm not familiar with the story...?

Oh...What does that have to do with their seeding?

I just figured that they play in the Ivy league, so they have had an easy time so far. I looked up the sagarin numbers and he shows them at #7 and they are ranked #13, so you are right they probably should be a 4 seed at worst.

Oh I didn't know if there was some tin foil conspiracy going on there or not lol.
Yeah the rpi and other rankings were high but the sos wasn't. It'll be interesting to see them play next.

Well they lost to #1 Maryland today 85-70. Played tough and it seemed closer than the score.
A shame they drew that 8 seed.

That's a shame. I think 31-0 would be good enough for at least a 4 seed, but most certainly better than an 8. It seems like seeding in the women's tournament is heavily skewed toward the power teams and conferences. I did think that the Lady Griz got a raw deal with a 16 seed. There were teams with lesser records that had better seeds. The top seeds usually do very well in this tournament, and I would imagine that Connecticut wins it all again.

I think the Lady Griz have gotten better seeds in the past and done nothing with them. At some point you have to just prove you can win some games against good competition before you get any more benefits of the doubt. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see the Big Sky get some more respect in the men's and women's tournament, but it will have to be earned.
