You are absolutely correct. He is not very good at all. He gets excited and it sounds dumb. He is so biased i don't even want to watch it at all.

I was listening to part of the friz game while watching the cats. The griz announcers are pathetic at best. They know it, the BSC knows it. I guess we have to deal with it. I think they sound like little five year olds talking about others in the sandbox. :?

They have always been pathetic. Serious lack of professionalism :!:

That's why they call them "homers." I could almost hear Holien grind his teeth when he read the Cats' final score, after which Gurnsey had a stroke and had to be airlifted from Pokey. :D :D :D

c'mon, be fair! after announcing the bobcat score, holien gave lulay a huge compliment, the gist of which eludes me just now since it was delivered in holien's inimitably cornpone style, but was unmistakably an utterance of the greatest respect for "the redhead."

and by the way, if you don't have anything nice to say about holien, come sit next to me! to all his other transgressions, i've just today added another: laziness. he simply can't be bothered to memorize numbers so as to pass on the names of players involved in the plays, or to tell you how serious an injury appears to be even if it involves one of your best defensive players (lance spencer) or to remember that the griz actually have a third-string quarterback, such that when this qb comes in for the last series of the game he's able to tell his listeners that it is drew hedrick, and not the redshirt clint stapp, as he mistakenly reports. naturally, this is all our dirty laundry and i wouldn't share it with you, except that many of you seem to take obvious delight in hanging around the griz laundromat.

I didn't hear him say anything after he announced the Cat score (honest), but that certainaly doesn't mean he didn't compliment Lulay. I probably just got distracted and didn't hear it. If he did say it, no wonder Gurnsey had a stroke! :D  Spencer was injured today? That is a bummer - man, that kid has had an up-hill battle.

We just love the guy. Oh, and the Cats suck.

Joe Morgan (ESPN Baseball), Bill Walton (NBA), and the Guckin' Fizzly announcers all fall into the same category as I would MUCH rather slide my own fingers down a blackboard and enjoy the sound than listen to any of them!

Da Griz, you have NO CLASS, just like your announcers.

Wow that was weak. Good luck on your next post where I am sure you will try desperately to sound clever.

Yea-- that Jeremy Jorgenson is a pain in the arse. He talks through his nose and his has 0 objectivity. It is embarassing to listen to his play by play. I can't imagine the Griz fans even like him.

Scott Gurnsey wins the 2005 Montana Radio Foundation Program of the Year award. Um, did I mention... FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!!

Yeah, that award was probably decided by three drunk monkeys in a Missoula bar. Guernsey is just sooooo great. :bs: He'll say something like, "You know, Mick, the Griz just threw for 12 yards and got a first down." He only states something completely obvious, like Tim McCarver on FOX. I'd like to smack them both. The Grizzly TV announcers are just as bad. I hope that's not too much on the smack talk side. We should feel lucky that we have two very solid announcers in Kris Attebury and Dan Davies.

I was thinking the same thing. The TV announcer is getting almost as bad as Gurnsey. Hint: Not every defender that tackles Lex Hilliard is getting "punished" or "Paying the price". Some, definitely yes. Others - just a tackle. "And Lex Hilliard absolutely punishes a defender on his way to a 5 yard gain!" Uh - not really - he just tackled him around the legs, got up, and jogged back to the huddle."

I liked during the EWU game when the Griz picked up their first first down on a penalty and Gurnsey said, “Now the Griz offense is moving the ball.” I laughed out loud. He was giving the offense credit for a defensive mistake! Great job Gurnsey. :-s

I like how in the EWU game, he kept referring to the score as a "shocker" and calling it "shocking." Like there is absolutely no way in hell the friz could EVER lose.

During the EWU game he kept talking about the "big mo" (big momentum). He must have said the "big mo" 15x's. He forgot to tell the Griz that they had the "big mo" in the 3rd & 4th quarters.
