Game winning shot, um coach runs onto floor before time expires, nau coach pissed and starts fight with griz head coach. Griz coach exits arena WWE style. What a crazy finish.

I find it exceedingly easy to dislike grizz with every cell in my body.

Shouldn't the Griz coach have been given a technical for being on the floor? Keep it classy, Fizz.

I am guessing that is what the NAU coach was upset about. The griz coach was at least 20 feet onto the floor.

The Griz coach literally dove back onto the bench trying to get off the floor in time. People also saying students starting rushing the court in front of the NAU bench.

I forgot about the Griz coach storming back into the locker room by himself high fiving people as hard as he could, jacked up.

Weird, weird ending.

Ya, that was crazy. Griz coach was acting kind of like a punk IMO. Not a huge shock though.

Yea it sucks being us.

Who wants a coach that would go to the student section after the game giving all high fives?
Who would want they players saying the following: "From the get-go we've known that he has our backs," said Gregory, who led the Griz with 21 points. "Like he's told us many times before he wouldn't ask us to run through a wall for him, he'd ask us to run through a wall with him. I think that perfectly displays what our team's about."?
Who wants a coach that on his first year takes his team to the championship game?
Who wants a coach that beat down the cross state team twice?

I'm once again hearing a lot of kitty envy.

Everyone except griz fans thinks a technical should have been called. I wouldn't expect you to agree with that.

I think level headed Griz fans (and even Cat fans, and maybe even a Lumberjack fan or two) know that it isn't the Griz coach's fault that the technical wasn't called. You take the breaks when you get them, but whining when you don't get the breaks doesn't do any good. The NAU coach was acting like a jerk -- there is no reason to go after the coach in that situation.

I actually do love the passion he showed, however when your team just got handed a win by the officials because they gave you a break by not calling a T on your bonehead assistant.... obviously the opposing coach is going to be absolutely livid after his team played their guts out and in all likelihood would have at least gone to OT had the right call been made.... Coach probably just tucked his tai between his legs and quietly went to the locker room in that situation.

Haha. BSC basketball. Hahahahaha.

I wonder what the ncaa rulebook sez about excessive celebration. Or whatever that was when the coach was on the floor. Very funny. Count on the BSC for comic relief.

I sent the tape to an unbiased buddy of mine who officiates bball in wyoming. Here's his take.

The officials had to blow the whistle to address the transfer student's interruption, which means it interfered with play, which means it should have been enough to assess a Class B Tech under 10-2.8:

Art. 8. Team followers (fans, bands, cheerleaders and mascots associated with either team) shall not commit an unsportsmanlike act, including, but not limited to, the following: ....
....d. Delaying the game by preventing the ball from being promptly made live or by preventing continuous play, such as but not limited to, followers entering the playing court before the player activity has been terminated. When the delay does not interfere with play, it shall be ignored.

Since they blew the whistle, it clearly interfered with play.

Yes, well, I'm sure there'll be some kind of BigSkyplanation about it.

Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton has done an initial review of the incident that occurred immediately following the end of Friday night’s Big Sky Conference semifinal game between the Montana Grizzlies and Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.

“First thing, I want to compliment the players,’’ Fullerton said. “The players as we watch them, there are no punches thrown, and they are breaking it up. They absolutely did a good job, both sets of players. The one thing people want to know about is (Montana coach) Travis (DeCuire). I see absolutely no action by Travis that would cause us to suspend him or cause any problems for Travis tomorrow. We’re still reviewing the head coach at Northern Arizona.’’

Montana defeated Northern Arizona 61-59 on a Jordan Gregory basket with .4 seconds remaining on the clock. Montana will play Eastern Washington in the 2015 Big Sky Men’s Basketball Championship on Saturday at 7 p.m. Mountain.

Also, if you watch the video, you'll notice that after the NAU coach pokes his finger at the griz coach and shakes his hand, he tries to walk off the court. The griz coach doesn't release his hand, pulls him back and gets in NAU coach's face. That is what leads to the ruckus. It also looks like the griz coach was almost off the court when he turns around and comes back to the arena to egg the crowd on. You'll notice an edit to the video. I'd like to see what was edited out. But what do you expect. Poor officiating leads to bad results.

Is your coach like 18? That's how I would expect an 18 year old to act.

No after the poke in the chest, coach went to the student section, gave out some high "5"s and then went to the looker room

Some day the cats maybe lucky enough to hire coaches with a lot a passion. I'm thrilled with both or our last two hired guns.
