Topic from smack talk
Read the thread about Bobby Hauck being a poor coach and running the griz program into the ground. Although Hauck is a , and does not know how to recruit, as long as Washington Griz packs 23,000+ in recruits will want to play there. I've talked with several high schoolers being recruited by both the griz and cats, and this is a resounding thought amongst them, play in front of 23,000 or 13,000?

That issue has always been tough for the Cats to overcome. However, we have recruited evenly (I think a little better) in Montana the last four years than the Griz. It is a far cry from the 90's and the first couple of years this decade when the Cats got the "leftovers" from the state.cornbreadfred wrote:Read the thread about Bobby Hauck being a poor coach and running the griz program into the ground. While we have lost a few recruits to the Griz the last few years (Hilliard, Murphy and Carlson) we have landed the top in state recruit the last three years in a row (even though those recruits haven't worked out). The atmosphere is impressive in Missoula but the effects it has on recruiting is less noticeable. If winning teams can be built in places like U of Wyoming, Northwestern (not consistantly) and to some extent Boise State, then you know the recruiting "process" has a lot to do with it.

I bet a 1/2 of them go also run this by themselves. Kramer or Hauck? Hmmm, tough choice there. Kramer could sell a ketchup popsicle to a person with white gloves.cornbreadfred wrote:Read the thread about Bobby Hauck being a poor coach and running the griz program into the ground. Yeah, good coaching definetely can create great teams in poor stadiums. And not saying Kramer does a bad job, just the high school recruits i've talked to, who are being offered full rides by both, are leaning towards UMCARDIAC_CATS wrote:I bet a 1/2 of them go also run this by themselves.
