Things got interesting in the BSC race
With ISU beating Cal Poly and UM losing to eastern community college. NAU almost lost to Davis. Lots of football left this year in BSC.

You're right, it's far from over. MSU has UM and ISU; EW has PSU, which has given them trouble; NAU is hard to figure out; UM is at So. Utah then has MSU; ISU has MSU and WSU, who looked good yesterday. A two-loss team could still win the league.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

No way. Winner will have only one loss.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

I agree. 2 won't win the BSC.catatac wrote:No way. Winner will have only one loss.

You need a loss by EWU to PSU, a loss by NAU in one of its last two games, MSU over ISU and UM over MSU (or ISU over MSU and WSU over ISU). It isn't likely, but certainly not outside the realm of possibilities. PSU nearly beat EWU in the last game last year. NAU almost lost to Davis at home last week.LTown Cat wrote:I agree. 2 won't win the BSC.catatac wrote:No way. Winner will have only one loss.

The griz had to kick a last second field goal to beat North Dakota and had a one touchdown lead over Cal Davis with 3 minutes to play and Cal Davis driving to tie the game. Davis went for and failed on a fourth down and the griz added another td. The Sac state Bobcat game also could have gone either way. Their are numerous other very close calls between upper tier teams against lower teams and I predict in the next two weeks there will be a bunch of very close finishes.

I'd be willing to bet a pretty good chunk of change that at least one of the 1-loss teams will win both of their remaining games. Although there's been a lot of close games this year between the upper tier teams and the bottom feeders, there's only been one actual upset...NAU's loss to UNCU. Obviously it would be dumb to say that it absolutely won't happen, but it seems extremely unlikely.TomCat88 wrote:You need a loss by EWU to PSU, a loss by NAU in one of its last two games, MSU over ISU and UM over MSU (or ISU over MSU and WSU over ISU). In fact, I'd go so far as to say that we may never see a 2-loss team win the league again, now that BSC has 13 teams and they no longer play a full round robin schedule. Most years, the contenders will not play every one of the other contenders, so that it will be much easier to go 7-1 or 8-0, than it was in the pre-expansion era.

I'd make that bet, too, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen. This isn't a bet. It's just pointing out what "can" happen.John K wrote:I'd be willing to bet a pretty good chunk of change that at least one of the 1-loss teams will win both of their remaining games.
