NAU defense has been pretty good most of the game but EWU is starting to move the ball against NAU. Fumble by EWU in the redzone. 4th and goal.

EWU field goal attempt negated by NAU penalty. Now they are going for the TD.

Earlier NAU had an interception ruled out of bounds even though the defender had one foot down and the ref was looking right at it. EWU got a FG after that play.

They are just not the same without VA.

What an end to the game. WOW. UM will have a tough time at CP. Could be MSU as the only undefeated team by tonight.

We have some tough games to finish the season out.

Didn't get to see the end. Root switched to the Damn Wyoming game with about 2 minutes left. I hate having dish.

I think the coaching staff cost them this one. Forte was running at will all day, had over 200 yards. On 4th and 4 with 50 seconds left they went for it with no back behind the qb and the second stringer overthrew his receiver by a lot. Not sure why they didnt just put forte in there and have him do what he was doing all day...But hey, it works out well for the cats!! I have a feeling by the end of the night they will be in first place all by themselves :D

This win by NAU creates an interesting log jam of 1 loss teams in the Big Sky.

And fyi I totally called a close game in another thread \:D/

Stupid playcall by baldwin on that 4th and 4. they were in easily makeable FG range that would have put them up by 8 with under a minute left. stuuuuupid.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Hindsight is always 20 20 but on the road with a backup QB kick the fg. If Adams was playing def go for it.

Yep...he made a few questionable decisions at the end. I don't know why he ran Brown rather than Forte on 3rd down, with Forte having had a career day...over 200 yards and almost 10 yards per carry. I don't know why he wouldn't go for the 40 yard FG attempt on 4th down, to put them up by 8. I don't know why he went with the empty backfield on 4th down, so that NAU knew they were going to pass. Why not have Forte in there so that NAU has to play for the possibility of the run? As has already been noted though, EWU is definitely not the same team without VA. EWU's QB did not look good today.

Can someone verify this for me, I only got to follow the game on gamecast. On 3rd down EW looked like they ran it with Forte and were stopped short. Gamecast then showed EW took a timeout, did EW run the play clock all the way down and then call the timeout or did EW call the timeout right after the run? I'm trying to figure out why they would have stopped the clock there when they could have sat on it and run the clock down. Gamecast isn't always very clear
