Official Coastal Carolina vs. Minnesota-Western game thread

Is anyone predicting a Coastal win today? I'm not going to be the first. NDSU 38, Coastal 14. Game starts at 10:00 AM.

They have one common opponent in Furman. Coastal was actually beating Furman worse (20-7 vs. 10-7)than NDSU at halftime, but NDSU took off in the second half while Furman got back in the game against Coastal.

Furman actually outgained Coastal and had a chance to drive for the tying score in the fourth only to fumble it and see Coastal return it for a TD. That put them down 35-21. They ended up losing 35-28.

NDSU scored 21 unaswered in the third quarter to go up 31-7 and outgained Furman by nearly 200 yards.

Not a lot of intrigue in these games. Last night's was the only one that I thought would be close. I think EWU and SE La. will cruise to wins. UNH might give SE La. a game, but I'm just saying because of UNH's playoff experience and SE La.'s distraction from its NCAA troubles.

Make that 17-0 still in the 1st qtr.

NDSU's O-line has been owning CCU's front 7. The blocking on the 73 yard TD run by Ojuri was a thing of beauty.

This is getting silly.

Injuries racking up on NDSU.

Simply WOW. I really wonder how these guys would be doing in FBS right now understanding that half their games would be in Fargo. Kansas State is playing Michigan at Sun Devil Stadium even with the loss to NDSU. I truely believe we are looking at a top 20 team right now.

This team really is at a whole different level. I hope EWU plays these guys just so we can
see what's what! Food for thought for the entire FCS.

Strangely, I think it'll take more than name-calling for NDSU to lose a game this year..

Sure we want to see Eastern play them? I think anyone hoping for the upset will be disappointed. I'm more intersted to see what they can hold Terrance West to (5 TD and 300+ yards against Eastern Illinois).

Minnesota-Western

Eastern/Jville is interesting atm. Tied at 7 with Jacksonville in the red zone. 2nd quarter.

Edit: Make that 14-7 Jville.

That was a great game by M-W, but consider the opponent. Not only is CC really not that formidable of an opponent, but that kind of travel on back-to-back weeks is tough. I think Towson or EWU could pose problems for them.

I was saying all last week that CC's win over UM was more a function of UM being way overrated, as opposed to CC being that good, and that was pretty much proven out on Saturday. By the same token, NDSU was very, very impressive. Some people have said they don't deserve to be considered among the best I-AA/FCS teams of all time, because their offense has been only average during their two NC runs, but it looked pretty good against CC. I think their offense is better than it was the last two seasons, and their defense is as good as ever. EWU and Towson both have great offenses, but I still don't see either one of them (or UNH) beating NDSU.

NDSU has a great team. I like to hack on them because being from NE Montana that's just what you do. CC was completely outclassed in this game. Completely.

I'm looking forward to this weekend's games. I think UNH will give NDSU a good test. They've played some solid D the last few weeks. NDSU is going to be emotionally drained after last week. I think they felt like they had something to prove and put a lot into the CC game. Could be a trap game for them. Hard to imagine a playoff game being a trap game, but for a team like NDSU that can happen.
