Other FCS Games

Post by CPrice91 » Sat Nov 09, 2013 1:11 pm

Some interesting ones:

Charleston Southern is up 24-3 on undefeated Coast Carolina in the 2nd quarter.

UM down 7 after a pick six early at South Dakota.

Also of note, App State is down only by 14-6 to Georgia at the half.

USD up 14-3 over UM. Unabashedly pro-Griz announcers in shock.

The aforementioned UNH-JMU game is cut to 14-7.

UM cuts it to 14-10.

Another note - undefeated #7 Fordham is beating Bucknell 10-7 to start the second half. Their starting QB appears to be out for the game with an injury.

UM gets another deep pass that leads to a TD, but USD follows it up with a great drive to go up 21-17.

Great game so far.

Formerly undefeated Coastal goes down to Charleston Southern 31-26, Fordham remains undefeated 23-21 over Bucknell, and New Hampshire 33-17 over JMU.

UM still down 24-17 against South Dakota. 13 minutes left.

Yep pretty impressive. Can you imagine the Griz record without him this year? Cat/Griz is going to be a battle.

We would be screwed honestly. #7 has really put us on his back this year and CrunchGriz pulled some shocking stats that put it all into perspective. Copy/Pasted from his EGriz post. Cat-Griz is going to be a great battle. Can't wait!

Hendo's statistical break down from CrunchGriz
"1. 878 yards on only 34 receptions = 25.8 yards per reception (easily the highest average in the FCS this season -- just a shade under three yards per reception higher than the next highest).

2. 14 TDs on only 34 receptions means that he's averaging better than 2 TDs on every 5 receptions (easily the highest average in the FCS this season -- half again better than any other receiver in FCS).

3. He's tied for the second highest number of receiving touchdowns in the FCS this season (with Cooper Kupp, interestingly), and he's only three TDs behind the leader despite having only 35% as many receptions as the leader (34 for EH, 97 for Lora of Eastern Illinois)."

Definitely impressive numbers.

Although very different types of players, watching 2 of the best WR's in BSC/FCS go head to head (Hendo and Bleskin) adds another great on field story line to Cat Griz. Bleskin is the type of kid that will easily find holes in our soft coverage and should put up big yardage and catch numbers against us, hopefully we keep him out of the endzone. Double or triple Henderson and he'll still get deep a couple times. Against the Cats JJ cannot under throw him like he did a multiple times last game, costing Henderson another TD and resulting in an INT when Ellis blew the top off of triple coverage. Looking forward to Henderson battling your talented DBs and a bit nervous about what Bleskin can do against our sieve of a secondary.

That's the nice thing about having Walcott (if he gets healthy) and especially Jones out there. Some good options out there for when teams double or triple Ellis.
