Re: Overrated FCS Teams
Shouldn't this go in EWU's "smack" thread?
Eh, may as well add more fodder for them. By what margin is Eastern more overrated than those four other teams, Alpha?

If NAU is 14th, then I'd have to say the griz are overrated...

Alpha has been saying this year after year, they keep reloading at receiver and everywhere else and beating teams like Oregon State, winning the conference and he still keeps beating his irrational drum about how bad they are.

Re: Overrated FCS Teams
I don't think Alpha really believes that. He's just trying to get a reaction from ScreamingEagle. You're right...they seem to have a never ending pipeline, filled with good QB and receivers. The names may change, but their offense just keeps rolling, year after year after year. Their defense will never be confused with NDSU's, but when your offense is that explosive, so long as you can hold the other team below 30, you're going to win almost every game. If they play NDSU in the playoffs though, I'll take the Bison defense over EWU's offense any day of the week.Weltercat wrote:Alpha has been saying this year after year, they keep reloading at receiver and everywhere else and beating teams like Oregon State, winning the conference and he still keeps beating his irrational drum about how bad they are.

Not arguing your point but has NDSU played a team that is as pass happy as EWU?

Re: Overrated FCS Teams
Maybe not, but after witnessing their playoff runs the last couple seasons, i believe their defense can dominate any team. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they'd shut out EWU, but I do believe they'd hold them under 20 points, and that will be good enough to win. They've played some very good offensive teams in the playoffs the past two years, and they only allowed 27 total points in four playoff games in 2011, and 43 in 2012. That's an average of only 8.75 points allowed in those eight games, and 20 is the most they've allowed in any single game. That is really remarkable, considering that they compiled those stats while playing the best teams in the country.catgrad05 wrote:John K wrote:I don't think Alpha really believes that.
