Does Grambling have any players good enough to wear Bobcat Gear?

After reading another article that explains that Grambling has lost a significant amount of funding from the State, while their rivals have not, I would be pissed off too.

For an entire team to refuse to play I think they should get their scholarship's pulled. Your there as an athlete, play the game. They sound like a bunch of cry babies, "we had to ride a bus while our opponent got to fly to the game". Yes some schools are like that deal with it

That and Jackson State refunded tickets for their homecoming game average attendance in '12 was 20,000.

That's a tough one, imagine the economic loss to Bozeman community and MSU.

You say the kids should have their scholarships pulled, but what about the supposed adults? The president would not let them use the mats because the money did not go through the foundation. It looks like they are having a lot of turf battles in the school. Nobody is looking good.

All of the coaches and athletic personnel need to be fired. AD, AAD all of them.

Life isnt fair and the fact that these people in a LEARNING facility are churning out young men that think the deserve anything is absolutely reprehensible.

Any MAN in a leadership position would know this and take advantage of the situation and turn it into a positive. If I was in charge of state funds they wouldnt get any more until they prove they can create men out of the punk ass bit*hes they have attending school there now.

I hate this country.

Mostly I agree with you, but lets say the board of regents got filled with Bobcats and decided to cut funding to UM by 60%, yet no cuts to MSU were made. Can you really say that you wouldn't be pissed?

Wait a second......are you using the trick that BAC taught you about thinking through a situation by putting yourself in the other shoes?

I might be pissed but I would use it as motivation to make sure we keep dominating you guys worse than we have in the past. I would put a chip on the players shoulders and teach them that when life isnt fair you need to be creative, smart and focused to overcome the many hurdles that will be placed on your lifes highway.

Sure there are always wrinkles in arguments like this and no 2 situations are ever going to be equal or fair but the fact of the matter in this case is they QUIT. Then administration made them out to be victims. That is not acceptable from a supposed higher learning facility. Those players got nothing but "sit back and wait for somebody to take care of you" they wont earn or learn a damn thing.

The editor of the grambling student newspaper was fired for tweeting out pictures of the dilapidated facilities at Grambling.

You're right Alpha. I have been thinking about this situation more and I've come to the conclusion that these kids need to concentrate on what they can control. Meaning they have an obligation to play football and to get an education. No it's not what they thought it would be when they were recruited, but things change and you've got to learn to adapt.

They can control their improvement in football and their performance in the classroom. They can't control funding and other external issues that may affect them. So don't even worry about it. All they've done is give justification to drop the football program all together.

Yep, if the Program or facilities are that bad, do something about it.

Its not to hard to get off your video game playin ass and go hit up businesses for donations to the athletic dept, start a car wash or organize a money drive for a specific project on campus that needs taking care of. DIY network might be glad to help out an all black college for some street cred. There are dozens of things you can do in a positive manor instead of standing around bitching and waiting for somebody else to do your work for you.

Bottom line is if the college is that bad maybe they should close it and save tax payers some money instead of pissing it away down a never ending education hole. There are hundreds of other colleges those players can go to.

Bingo. If you don't like your facilities - or heaven forbid you don't get your Muscle Milk paid for, do something about it that involves working harder, not less. Most of those kids are privileged to have their education paid for while getting to play football. Go ahead and pay for your own education if you don't like the football program.

I'll add that aren't these the same facilities they had when they were recruited to play for Grambling? Or has all this changed in the past year or two?
