A tale of three QBs

Post by [cat_bracket] » Fri Oct 11, 2013 12:41 pm

These guys are really bouncing around, especially Sac State's Safron. His first two games he threw four int and had no TDs. His QB rating was just 82.9. Since then he has 16 TD and three int with a 158.8 rating. He runs a lot. 70 rushes for 177 yds.

JJ started out with a 256.9 rating and 80.9 completion pct after two games, but has hit on just 47.1% since then and his rating is down to 149.7 in his last three. 149.7 is still very good and he's yet to be picked off. He has just 19 carries for 57 yards.

Adams came out smoking after two games, too. His QB rating was 209.4 and he was connecting 75.9% of the time. He's settled down some, but still had a rating of 164.7 and pct of 62.9 over the last three games. He's also EWU's leading rusher with 255 yds on 50 carries with three TDs.

Speaking only for JJ its amazing his stats are still as high as they are with all the down field passes he has attempted. His completion % has always shocked me because its that high and he throws at least 3 to 5 balls away each game.

I would imagine that his season % will be under 60% unless we start throwing the short passes and screens that most clubs do.

As for Adams he is going to continue to plunge.....and a lot of his jump balls will start being picked off the rest of the season.

I must admit that JJ does a good job of wisely throwing the ball away when there just isn't any one open.

Can't say I'm surprised Adams is their leading rusher. Their ground game is virtually non-existent.

Starting RB didn't play the first 3+ games due to injury, but EWU rushed for 280 against Weber so it is bound to improve.

Didn't Sac start with 2 FBS schools? I think they may pull an upset or two this year in the Big Sky...

How's McGhee looking in your guy's opinion?

He's looking like a great QB recovering from a shoulder injury. Stats are a bit misleading. When healthy he's as steady as they get. He only has one int which is the best sign.

He had a bad game last weekend but fortunately those are extremely rare for him.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!
