MIke and Mike this Morning

Post by gtapp » Fri Sep 20, 2013 5:30 am

When interviewing Sal Paolantonio about the Eagles/Chiefs game Sal said (regarding the Eagles Offense): "you can't scheme your way out of a 4 and 12 record (2012). You have to have the talent. There are no Idaho State's on the schedule"!!!!

pretty disrespectful comment, what a jackass.

I heard the same kind of comment recently, but it used Sac State as the punchline. I guess Sac State being in the receiving end of a beatdown by two Pac 12 schools put it on the radar for West Coast sports pundits.

Not sure about Mike and Mike, but apparently Sal Paolantonio does.

Funny thing is Chip Kelly's Ducks never played Idaho State or Sac State.

Oregon State did lose to Sac State in 2011, though. :?

I gotta say, Dan Patrick is way better.

I'm sort of 50/50 on ol' Danny Boy. The tops for me are SVP & Russilo.

I agree...SVP & Russilo is absolutely the best sports talk show on TV or radio.

I like that MSU gets some props on The Dan Patrick show but only about 50% of that show is about sports. They spend half their time shooting the crap instead of on sports. It's kind of like a reality show!

Exactly...that's why I don't care for it at all. I used to like Dan Patrick when he was on ESPN radio, but whenever I've tried to watch his current show, after about 10 minutes I get disgusted because they spend so much time just BS'ing about...well nothing really. Just because you're a pseudo-celebrity, it doesn't necessarily mean that BS'ing with your buddies is going to be interesting to other people.

That's why I like it, they don't take themselves overly serious, just guys talking about sports. Listening for 4 years, my favorite thing to listen to at work each morning. Nothing beats a good Wheel of Punishment. There's a reason he has one of the top shows in America....
SVP is great too, pretty much for that reason, he and Russilo like to have a good time as well.

I think you don't get it. Sleeping in until 6 won't get many people very far in life, especially if they want to play on Sunday.

I like Mike & Mike, Dan Patrick [even tho he is full of himself most of the time], and the little I've listened to SVP & Russilo. Anything is better than ESPN First Take with Skip Bayless and Steven A Smith.

I'll agree with you on that one. I can't stand First Take, or Bayless or Steven A.

Two of the most annoying ESPN Personalities up there with Cowherd. Although, like Cowherd, Steven A. sometimes makes very compelling arguments. Skip's whiny voice pretty seals the deal.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Actually I'd take Cowherd over Bayless or Steven A. any day of the week. He bugs me sometimes, but he's infinitely more entertaining and intelligent than either of the First Take buffoons.
