Why some grizz fans only want to talk about 1986-2009

Post by [cat_bracket] » Thu Aug 08, 2013 9:17 am

We all know why they don't want to talk about the last three, but the first 23 aren't as well known. Turns out they were the worst team of that era and, well, MSU was the best.
National championships:
MSU - 2
ISU - 1
BSU - 1
NAU, um, Nevada, idaho, WSU - 0

Wins:
MSU - 129
BSU - 118
Idaho - 112
WSU - 112
ISU - 104
um - 101
NAU - 67*
Nevada - 36**
*only played 14 of first 23 years
**only played 5 of 23

Postseason wins:
MSU - 7
BSU - 6
ISU - 3
Nevada - 3
Idaho - 1
WSU, um, NAU - 0

BSC titles:
MSU - 9
BSU - 5
Idaho - 5
um - 3
ISU - 2
WSU - 2
NAU - 1
Nevada - 1

Postseason appearances:
MSU - 4
BSU - 3
Nevada - 3
um - 3
Idaho - 2
NAU - 1
ISU - 1

Head-to-head: MSU 17, um 6
Two grizz wins over MSU came in 69-70 when they were caught paying players who weren't working. Those were also two the years they made it to the postseason and won the league. So what little success they had was due to cheating.

And now you know ... The rest of the story.

Right...both schools can selectively choose eras over which they were dominant.

Wanna talk about the overall series record?

Sure! Cuz when you include the first 60 years MSU moves ahead in national and league championships and bowl games. \:D/

I have some grapes I'll sell you for the same price even though they've gone sour.

(And I'll take your apples. According to USDA.gov, apple prices are generally higher than orange prices this week.)
