The first weekends games

I have to say this past weekend of football wasn't very exciting. I was in Billings all weekend dying to watch the 1st weekend of the Big Sky.

The Griz game was on the radio but the quality of the opponent made the listening a little ho-hum. I think this game did little for the Griz in terms of getting them ready for Oregon. Even with a 55-0 drubbing, I'm nervous for this weekend. I'm hoping the Griz have just half the game the Cats put up against OSU.

The Cats....what can I say about the Cats? WOW. I never thought they would be in this game past half-time. Not only were they in it, they had a chance to win it in the 4th quarter and were actually ahead at the half. But this game sucked. Why? no T.V., no radio. Throw the fans a bone will ya! It's funny, the Griz win by a landslide and the Cats lose, yet I feel MSU gained not only more respect, but a better idea of how their football team will perform the rest of the season. Great job again Cats!!

I did catch the West/Butte game Friday night. West is fantastic. They have a great qb and a trio of fantastic wr's. They've outscored their first two opponents 118-0. However, it's their defense that I was most impressed with. Good luck to the rest of the double A's trying to solve that puzzle. Senior might score a few against them but I don't see any other team hoisting the trophy other than the bears. The Griz and Cats would be well served to go after some of these guys. If you get a chance, go see them play.

The qb is for sure. Maybe even 1-A. I would say a couple of the wr/db combos and a defensive lineman or two will also be able to play at the I-AA level. This team is stacked.
