I feel a little stupider from having read that thread. Wish I hadn't.

The only time I can think of that it would be OK to refer to an African-American as an Irish lad would be if you, in fact, knew that person was actually of Irish descent. It's pretty insensitive or moronic otherwise. I can't even imagine anyone walking up to someone and referring to them as such and if they did I can't imagine anyone laughing as if it were true humor. In fact, I never even imagined that someone would do it behind a screen name on a message board, but they did and others seem to be thinking it was OK and even funny. Wow. Of course those people are probably the same ones saying Jane Doe from the JJ trial was a slut and thinking that the not guilty verdict meant she made a false accusation. I'm glad that didn't happen on this message board and I really feel bad for the good UM fans out there. In an effort to make this not happen again, I'll say that I believe that athletes being recruited wouldn't like it either.

I would hope that mods on this site would remove something like that if it happened here.

PR has done that exact same thing before toward McGhee in the past as well, and many people have explained to him that mocking someone's ancestory, especially with the whole scar of slavery in our nation's history, is incredibly rude/immature/obnoxious. The thing is, his whole intent is to be obnoxious. Kind of strange for a guy in his profession to be so willing to make himself look like a [insert favorite euphemism here] to a lot of potential clients every time he posts. It does cost him money, whether he likes to admit that or not.

And yeah, I really doubt any mods would be condoning/tolerating that sort of thing over here, regardless of who a person was talking about. We probably wouldn't edit or delete it, but I'm sure mods would join the chorus of people pointing out how stupid it was to do that ... and the poster would probably just stop doing it on their own (as is the case with all of the great posters on this board).

As I expected, but it's good to be reassured.

Here's his latest on McGhee:
My guess is that there are a number of Cat players who don't view DM as captain material or don't like him, and thus didn't vote for him the past two years.
I guess he doesn't subscribe to Colter's Bobcat Beat. Which says DMac was FIFTH in the captain voting. Yeah, the players really don't like DMac. There's so much not to like. Hahaha.

I think the signature under my comments.. With success comes attention etc. etc. pretty much describes most Griz fans. I hope to hell we never go there. I thought after their stellar season last year and all the turmoil they have been through, they might be humbled......guess not. I paid close attention to the trial of JJ and it was something to watch play out on egriz... The minute he was found not guilty they were telling themselves they were going to be playing for the NC, the Cats suck.... Ash will never make it to a semi final game etc.etc. I'm going ask Griz fans if they know how long Ash has been head coach, and how long Don Read was head coach before he won a NC! I'm going to say 10 years...Hummmmm...

With success comes attention, with attention comes cockiness, with cockiness comes arrogance, with arrogance comes rudeness...and they wonder why I hate the Griz ! FTG

I read that thread before it was linked here. I find myself wondering why would an MSU fan let anything said by Player Rep have so much control and power over them.

Because the majority of the Cat fans that post over there are about as intelligent as their Griz counterparts.

They're going to ban you. Just because they can.

Even though apparently they can all say Steve Dill as much as they want, apparently mentioning Jack's name is a no-no.

I won't get into that, but there does seem to be a lot of people here overly upset.
