This is the year of the Blue and Gold!!!! Good teams find ways to win no matter who they are playing. The way ND lines up on offense looks a lot like MSU and Golson reminds me of DM....

This is why I dont like the FBS/bcs bullsh*t, there is noway ND is one of the top 5 best teams in the country, they are not even as good as USC especially if Barkley is playing.....but it doesnt matter they get the nod by the computers to be selected for a NC.

So much wrong with that I dont even know where to start.

I agree! Until they have an 8 team or greater playoff I have a real hard time putting much stock in the great BS championship.

Let them enjoy this year. Then give them two years to join a conference. After they win a division in a conference, win the conference championship game, win one of the two designated semifinal games, then the championship game. They'll probably join the ACC and watch that conference go the same way as the big east.

Uh, I get your point , but using USC is not the best example... Considering they just beat them, which is something that is going to happen in playoffs sometimes. So point being, I'm a huge fan of the playoffs, but they don't always end up crowning the best team... Just as the old BSC system doesn't. In fact I thing it could be argued that the BCS system gets it right more often that a playoff system.

IMHO I think the reason playoffs are preferred is more for the upsets and each team having a shot...not necessarily to get the 2 best teams because as mentioned above the BCS generally has done that right.

You guys are crazy if you think the BCS gets the best team or teams. The best team in the FBS isnt even in the top 5

Most years. Not every year. I agree this year is an exception. And Auburn got hosed because of it in 2003 I believe. Most other years I couldn't argue with it.

I am not a fan of ND or the BCS but I think they get it right most of the time. I think the 4 team playoff is a good step in the right direction. This year ND deserves to be number 1! They are the only undefeated team, they usually have one of the toughest schedules in the country and if they can beat Alabama they deserve it!

I still think Oregon, especially after a month to rest their D-line, would beat any team in FCS football.

One OT loss to a very good Stanford team, and the rest of the wins by at least 11 points, and it's season over in terms of winning a title.

That's an unforgiving system if you aren't an SEC team. It's too bad Stanford didn't start Hogan earlier, either, because they win the UW and Notre Dame games with him at QB instead of Nunes.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

What a ride

I think Bama is still no.1... They had a bad game vs. Texas A&M but imo they are diverse on offense and defense plus they have a great coach in Saban. All the tools are there and when they utilize them they are unstoppable...

Can't argue with that. 8)

I will bite, who do you think is the best?

There is no doubt that Texas A&M would roll anyone in the top 10, they already manhandled everybodys jerkoff team Alabama and they kicked their ass the way nobody has since Saban has been there. Oh yeah they got beat by Florida 10 weeks ago so what they are the best team in the country right now and wont get within 8 spots of the trophy.

But I totally understand them being 9th in the country.............................. #-o

This year and next year brings and end to a great deal of the tired b.s. discussion concerning who would beat whom; were Ohio State eligible...but they can't get the coaches vote...

Hopefully somebody kills the big east and there's only four major conferences with two divisions in two years. The conference champions of the four conferences play a semifinal game and then meet for the national championship. But I know, those eight teams that play for conference championships really aren't in a playoff, because, well those other five midmajor conferences will sue if they don't get a team in one of those semifinal games and of course there's the school after whom this thread is titled and then you'd have to put up with all the sportswriters, athletic directors and coaches with an understanding of how to manipulate a human poll...and one of the little brother teams that couldn't get it done like TAM this year in conference play will be all bent out of shape...
