I like NDSU, I also Like SHSU, both have very good teams and their fanbases are passionate and knowledgeable.

NDSU has the stronger defense, SHSU has the stronger offense. I am hoping to see a rematch of the 2011 NC and hope it will be a close exciting game.

Looked over the Bison roster and counted only 6 seniors, tough road trip for the Cats next year!

Hopefully your son is working hard because we are going to need to be bigger, faster, and stronger especially on the OL.

I was wondering that very thing. Here's what the roster on the espn.com website shows:

8 Andre' Martin Jr. CB 5-10 191 SR SAINT LOUIS, MO
10 Bobby Ollman S 5-11 201 SR MEQUON, WI
13 Aireal Boyd CB 6-1 184 SR LA PORTE, TX
47 Garrett Bruhn TE 6-1 241 SR BEATRICE, NE
68 Ty Beckius G 6-4 298 SR MAHNOMEN, MN
73 Joe Lund C 6-2 303 SR BLOOMINGTON, MN
96 Ricky Hagen DE 6-3 242 SR COLFAX, WI

They have 37 players from Minnesota and just 20 from ND. Maybe it should be North Minnesota State University?

NDSU actually has more students from Minnesota than North Dakota.

NDSU should be MSU-Fargo. The Summit League is referring to their teams by their city, so by that naming convention, they should be Fargo University, aka FU.

We'll always be Sioux, even with a new name!

Seems Sports Illustrated agrees, with this article just yesterday:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nhl/ne ... ockey/#all

Even the ESPN3 announcer from last Saturday, who did the NDSU/Wofford game, seemed more impressed with the "Sioux" atmosphere:

I find it hard to believe that the atmosphere at a Sioux Football game is better than a Bison Football game.

You mean Sioux hockey. It partially depends on who they are playing. Vs Minnesota, tickets go for $500 a piece. Whoever they are playing, it is always a carnival atmosphere.

Sioux football playoff games in D2 days vs Grand Valley St (who were coached by Brian Kelley now of Notre Dame) and UC-Davis absolutely rocked. The Alerus Center, which has a lower roof than the FargoDome and can be much louder, reached incredible decibel levels. Everybody covered their ears because the noise hurt so much. NDSU rarely made the D2 playoffs in the five years prior to moving up and until the past two years, the FargoDome was more like a masoleum. UND's transition sucked a lot of life out of the football fan base excitement here.

Can't believe a und fan would even mention where a player on a roster is from, especially if you consider the fact that there isn't one single ND player on und's hockey roster this year......not one. They do have 13 skaters from O'Canada however (13 out of a 26 player roster). I understand that they DO have every intention of recruiting a ND player next year, maybe even two. I guess that's a start.
