Where does ISU rank among the BSC's worst teams ever?
They've been oustcored 425-148 in seven conference games, and won't even play the #1 scoring offense in the league (MSU). Their conference opponents are scoring over 60 points per game. They're averaging just 40 ypg rushing, and again didn't even play the top rushing defense in the league (MSU). They've had their fair share of off the field problems.
I don't know where they rank. I know there have been plenty of teams who didn't win a game in a season, but I can't imagine any teams getting blown out this badly, this many times. I'd like to know what everybody else thinks.
I think they'll lose to Weber by at least 30, but that game could change things.

Re: Where does ISU rank among the BSC's worst teams ever?
Haha...you beat me to it. I was just about to post something about ISU being historically bad, after seeing that they lost to Cal Poly 70-14 last night. That's the 3rd time this season they've allowed 70 or more, and they've allowed an average of 55.2 points in 10 games. Back out the 38-5 win over Black Hills State (are they D-II or NAIA?), and they've allowed an average of 60.8 to thier other 9 opponents. They've allowed 49 points or more in every single game, except that BHS game. The same PSU team that we just destroyed, beat ISU 77-10. I mean, can you imagine that PSU team that we saw yesterday beating any team that badly? ISU makes our 0-11 2000 team look like the frickin' Super Bowl champs. Actually, I don't think that was even the worst MSU team that I can remember. I'd say that honor goes to Earle The Pearl's first team in 1987. They did manage to win one non-congerence game, but they had some pretty epic blowouts that season. Again though, I don't think that team was nearly as bad as the 2012 Bengals. I'd be hard pressed to think of any BSC team that's ever been worse than ISU is this season.

Re: Where does ISU rank among the BSC's worst teams ever?
Idaho doesn't schedule any BSC teams in 2013 for a reason, they don't want their bid for independent marred by any losses.
But in 2014, when they can't get an Division II team to even play in the Kibbie Dome, what is the chance that they schedule Idaho State?
100%.
Final score projection: 3 - 2 winner to be determined.

The winless year after Cliff left would rival what is happening in Poky this year except there were a few competitive games. By far and away the worst teams had to have been the 63 or 66 teams from that place we're playing this week when you consider the type offenses run back in those days. Embarrassing. One year they were 1-9 and the other 1-8 and they only beat teams from the Frontier Conference I believe. Or maybe it was Butte High.

I am surprised Kramers teams wasn't better this year, especially on D. He may never coach again if he doesn't turn this around.

ISU isnt even close to being the worst BSC team ever.
You would have to put the winless cat team as #1 then Northern Colorado for however many years they have been in the BSC, then ISU.

Nope. Your 63 or 66 teams just barely beating Western or whatever team were the absolute worst since the inception of the conference, especially considering your previous conference affiliation. Pitiful would be a more accurate discription of where you were. In fact, the Board of Regents considered eliminating football over there and truth be known, your psuedoschool would have been better off had they done that rather than allow Swarthout to give you such an inflated sense of actual accomplishment.AlphaGriz1 wrote:ISU isnt even close to being the worst BSC team ever.

Sorry Alpha, but you're just wrong about that (someone alert the media, because that hardly ever happensAlphaGriz1 wrote:ISU isnt even close to being the worst BSC team ever.

Alpha is just trying to piss people off this week. It's an annual thing, and I kinda like him for it. Just stirring the pot on a week where the pot needs stirring.

I think a better question might be which Idaho team is worse, relative to the level of their competition. Is Idaho a worse I-A team, or is Idaho State a worse I-AA team? I think you'd have to give a slight edge to ISU, but it's fairly close.

The lack of a pass defense gives Weber thier first loss to the Bengals in 10 years
At least that is what my gut is telling me

You guys will not lose to ISU. You're almost guaranteed to score at least 50 against them, because (almost) everyone has scored at least 50 against them. And even if your pass defense isn't very good, you should be able to hold ISU to less than 50. Seriously, you should win by 2-3 TD. I'll predict 52-35 for WSU.WSUWILDCAT wrote:The lack of a pass defense gives Weber thier first loss to the Bengals in 10 years

^ I would be downright shocked if Weber didn't beat Idaho State. Even Northern Colorado put 52 points on them...

Definitely Idaho. They are the worst (or second worse, NMSU apparently is in the running as well) team in all of 1-A. Whereas ISU would probably have a decent record if it played one of the crappy 1-AA conference schedules.John K wrote:I think a better question might be which Idaho team is worse, relative to the level of their competition. But I'd have to think that ISU is definitely in the running for being one of the worst all-time teams in BSC history, as compared to the rest of the current BSC teams. Those point differentials are amazing.

Re: Where does ISU rank among the BSC's worst teams ever?
Weber football losing to ISU at this point would be about as likely as Weber's basketball team losing to MSU during the month of February. ISU is shockingly bad, Weber actually gives up less than 70 points per game.
