The player Poole wass at a rave party and got busted for Esctacy. Must have been a lot because he was charged with a felony andd bail set at $50,000. Not good for the Grizzly program or the future for this young man.

Yep, another crazy story about the Griz football program! You would think the Griz players would realize that they can't get away with the things that they used to be able to get away with!

Agreed. Plus I'm tired of all these ecstasy peddlers sleeping in until 5 am. How do you expect to be successful in the "E" business without a little determination? Kudos.

Another Griz Arrested!

Post by webdav » Mon Oct 29, 2012 6:52 am

Another bad decision. Do these young men understand what they are doing? He not only will suffer the legal consequences, but lose his scholarship, get kicked out of school, and for years any future employer (or potential date, etc.) googling his name will see articles about this.

If you have the privilege of a free college education because you can play a game, take advantage of it. Go home after a game and study, then get some rest.

I hope our coaches use this as an example of how you can really mess up your life with one bad decision.

Just looking at the Griz this year, they should probably spend a little more time on the "O's" and a little less on the "X".

seriously though, another bad situation. When it rains it pours.

I noticed on efriz that one of the posters on there said something about the "culture" in Missoula. My son is a freshman at MSU and he has a friend going to UM. After talking to his friend about the differences between MSU and UM, he came to the conclusion that in Bozeman the "culture" is more towards drinking and pot (Roskie :o ). In Missoula, there is drinking, but it seems drugs are a bigger deal and not just pot.

I am not saying that it isn't happening in Bozo, but that was his perception.

Does it surprise anyone that a guy with "weed" in his username has a son that talks about pot?

I think that any college now a days is going to have all that is mentioned. It is just more on how accessable it is. Everyone knows that these are deeper issues that can be very hard to overcome since most students just send in an appliacation that shows nothing about who they really are. The big thing is recently it "seems" that Coach Ash and his staff are truely looking at a students character and not just his skills on the field. With the amount of trouble over west you have to question what the former staff was really interested in with some of their recruits. And yes a few bad apples can ruin the bunch.

"The university's student-athlete code of conduct calls for the sophomore from Spokane, Wash., to be suspended indefinitely and if convicted of a felony, to be dismissed from the team."

So, if he is only convicted of a misdemeanor will they invite him back with open arms? :-k

Wait... this just in from playerrep

"If it wasn't Missoula (under scrutiny) and he wasn't a football player, I can't imagine he would even be charged with felony. This should be a diversion if Poole hasn't been in other serious criminal trouble (say you're sorry and won't do it again, do some education, be good for X period of time, and the charge goes off his record).

Mr. Ryan (I assume Paul Ryan) is his attorney. Ryan is a very good criminal attorney. Released without any bail. Has had not prior criminal issues. Was cooperative with law enforcement.

My guess is that he has a reasonable chance of playing (or ought to have the chance) for the Griz in the future, but, of course, not this year."

PR is in full spin mode. Dude even went on saying that Poole might have been drunk, and that people make mistakes when they're drunk, so that's ok.
