ISU Suspends Kramer for one game.
Kramer doesn't get to go to WaGriz this week, as he is suspended for one game. Don Baily will take his place

You'd get hammered by the end of the first quarter if they run the ball up the middle on a 3rd and long.RK Cat wrote:I just thought of the best drinking game take a shot every time Don Bailey calls the bubble screen
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

That's something, I think, Dean Alexander (former long-time voice of the Bobcats) started. It certainly fits.geaux_sioux wrote:Why is he referred to as Big Human by the griz and bison fans?

Yeah he's been the Big Human as far back as I can remember knowing Kramer.

Looking through your posts two things appear very obvious 1.) You don't like Mike Kramer very much and 2.) You never figured out how that whole quote function works here.
By the way the 'Big Human' nickname goes back to when he coached at Helena High.

I'm thinking TrueCat must've been bitchslapped by the Big Human back in the day. Thanks for the Helena High info. I thought I remembered the nickname dating back to those days at HHS with, or after Mick Dennehy.Maudlow wrote:Oh I see what you did there...Big Human...Big Liar...Huh that's creative.TrueCat wrote:More like BIG LIARwbtfg wrote:That's something, I think, Dean Alexander (former long-time voice of the Bobcats) started. Retiring my moniker. It's time to ride off into the sunset. It's been a fun ride. Go Cats.

HA! None of the above. Never bought into Kramer's B.S....found him to not be very genuine and looked out for himself.

Slam him all you want, but he's the one who really turned things around at MSU and got us started down the path to where the program is now. You call it B.S...others call it charisma or charm, but his ability to "sell" a program that had been irrelevant for most of the past 15 years was exactly what we needed at that time. I'm not taking anything away from the outstanding job that Ash has done since in the last six years. He deserves a great deal of credit for taking the program to an even higher level, but it took someone with Kramer's charisma and passion (i.e. salesmanship) to reignite some enthusiasm among long suffering Bobcat fans.TrueCat wrote:HA! Kramer built a house of cards here at MSU and put the program in jeopardy with APR issues. As much as it is important to "sell" a program to recruits and boosters, that program must be steady and strong. Ash has accomplished that, Kramer "sold" us using smoke and mirrors.

To be fair, when Kramer was building the program, there was no such thing as APR. He was building the team in the traditional way. The "traditional" way of reloading with JC tranfers and not worrying about student athlete grades and graduation? Not sure how that build a program

Re: ISU Suspends Kramer for one game.
Using your analogy, Kramer did build a house of cards. No good foundation, lots of transfers, etc. BUT, he built that house when MSU didn't even have a deck of cards to begin with. The house was built without a foundation. Ash came in and kept the house from falling while pouring a foundation underneath. Over the past several years, he was replaced cards with studs (pun intended) to where MSU now looks like it has a house that is going to stand the test of time.TrueCat wrote:Kramer built a house of cards here at MSU and put the program in jeopardy with APR issues. Like him or not, Kramer did some great things to put MSU Football back on the map. I don't think Ash would have had the same effect on the program AT THE TIME that Kramer did. He would have still succeded, but I think it would have taken longer. MSU needed a saleman at the time. After the program was in effect sold, then they needed a great leader. Both moves were played to almost perfection by MSU.

Kramer was hired to get Bobcat football competitive again, he did that. During his time at MSU the NCAA landscape changed, previously they looked at graduation rates, in Kramers time he still had graduation rates at an acceptable level for the old system. Granted to do what he did he had to take a few risks, and a few of them came back to bite him. All and all I will always appreciate what Kramer accomplished for MSU football.

Re: ISU Suspends Kramer for one game.
Your analogy makes sense. However, I believe that because he was charismatic, Kramer gets waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more credit than he deserves as a coach and a leader
