Griz/Eastern Predictions?

Post by Catfanatic84 » Tue Sep 25, 2012 10:28 pm

What say you? If the Griz that showed up in the second half of the NAU game reappear....Eastern wins.....if they limit the turnovers...it will be close.

Griz/Eastern Predictions?

Post by LongTimeCatFan » Tue Sep 25, 2012 10:48 pm

I think NAU exposed UM's defense namely #37 last week. EWU will run wild. Forget about the pass, if UM can't stop the run, well they're toast.

I am not sure anyone will slow down EWU this year (including us). Your best bet is to outscore them. I doubt um can do that!

I actually think that the griz have a solid chance of winning this game. Isn't Eastern starting a redshirt freshman QB over Padron now? I know they did last week. If this is the case, I think the griz agressive defense may give the youngster fits making him make some mistakes. The griz still have a very good and big o-line so I think they will try and slow the game down by running the ball with all of those rb's and just try and pound Eastern. Can you say Bobby ball?

If the griz can keep it fairly low scoring and close they have a chance. If not and Eastern stops their run game they may get blown out of Cheney.

Eastern wins by a couple TD's. They will make the UM D look silly at times.

I think EWU will win, even if UM can avoid turnovers. Their defense hasn't been very good so far this season, against either the pass or the run. They will likely get much better as the season progresses, but at this point I don't think they're good enough to consistently stop EWU.

Does anyone know if Padron was benched last week for something other than performance, or if they like the freshman better going forward?

This one is hard for me to predict. Everything tells me it's going to be a beat down for the griz but just when you think they are down and out they rear their ugly head.

Eags should win pretty easy but don't be surprised if Montana plays like a team possessed.

What exactly tells you it should be a beat down? Statistically they are almost dead even......so.........

What has EWU done that warrants that? Beat an 0-3 Weber team or an 0-12 Idaho team?

I just dont get it.

I know you WANT this to be the case but lets deal with facts here.

So you must believe that NAU is a much better team than EWU? You "sort of" predicted that NAU would beat UM in Missoula, and are now predicting that UM will win easily at EWU?

NAU is most definitely a better team than EWU.

I am not saying UM will win easily I am saying its possible look at the statistical categories. We score quite a few points and gain quite a bit of yardage and their defense gives up some points and yards.

EWU struggles a bit on offense we struggle a bit on defense overall right now these two teams are not that good but very even in comparison.

Can I see how EWU could as you put it "beat down the Griz" maybe. Is it probable not according to the statistics these are two very evenly matched teams with QB problems.

Statistics up 'til now don't tell the entire story. Take a look at Montana's red zone defense v Eastern's red zone offense.

Eastern has had the much more challenging schedule. If you'd like to take the griz strait up on a wager, PM me and we could work it out.

Nope, the only way I would do that is with the condition that if anyone but McKinney starts I will bet you straight up.

If that hack is back there then all bets are off.

I'm confused! so it's back to the griz beat down if Mckinney starts?

   So AG knows more than the UM coaching staff about what it takes to win. I'm pretty sure they're doing everything in their power to maximize their chances of beating EWU, including playing the QB they think gives them the best chance of doing that. The backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team when you're losing.

Regarding the game - I think you're forgetting about home field advantage EWU has with that God awful field. The last time you played there it wasn't pretty for you, and you had a better team then.
