Yeah, he gave a fake name and ID afterwards because he was "concussed". The concussion was obviously the big problem in this whole case. But wait...if the car wreck caused the concussion, then what caused the wreck? It's pretty obvious kid was stone-cold drunk.

I think it is a good punishment for a first offense, hope he learns his lesson.

I don't know whether or not he was legally drunk (because he refused a breath test), but he had been drinking and something caused the accident. What's that commercial? "Buzzed driving is drunk driving"?

He lost an entire season of track and an entire spring of football leaving him further behind his peers. He did the crime, he did the time. He was suspended the entire time this was ongoing and all in a very public forum. I truly hope the kid learned his lesson from his actions, and can teach others because of it. I imagine any more trouble down the road and he'll never put on a Griz uniform again.

Fair enough. I guess my original thought was if he had pleaded guilty to any of the original charges or amended charges, would he have been immediately reinstated? Does a guilty plea (for any charge) result in further suspension or dismissal under the student code of conduct?

This is how I feel. And this is how "letting the court system work" should happen, suspended until proven not guilty.
