Allen recognized the root of his problem: his hair.

He started to grow his hair out to sport... a mullet?

"The mullet is like the All-American haircut," Allen said. "I realized, why turn against what gave me that mystique?"

Allen said last season that the mullet was a key to his success. At the Pro Bowl in February, the mullet was "in full force."

But Allen dumped the haircut during a vacation to New Zealand with his girlfriend.

'I had a Britney moment overseas," Allen said, referring to pop singer Britney Spears, who famously shaved her head last year.

Since he's only had a few weeks to grow his hair, Allen said he only has a "baby mullet."

"But it's sweet," he said. "I got something to run my fingers through."

Williams and Allen's agent aren't fans of the 'do.

"Every night, as his hair gets longer, the vision in my nightmare of his mullet grows worse and worse," agent Ken Harris said. "The face is bad enough. It didn't need the mullet."

Added Williams, "He can't bring that back, because his hair is falling out on top."

But Allen doesn't care what anyone else thinks. The haircut isn't going anywhere.

"It's basically my secret strength," he said. "God gave me my talent. But the mullet gives me the attitude to use my talent."

All I know is he plays WAY better drunk.

Hair or no hair give that SOB a tall boy and its a good idea to get out of the way. (In the stadium or on the road)

All I know is if his Tennesse Tophat (or Kentucky Waterfall or Canadian Passport) had given him the strength he claimed it gives him, I wouldn't have had to can him from two of my fantasy rosters. Technically speaking, when you lose hair on top but still retain the sides and back it's called a Skullet.
