well, hopefully he does better than you think he's capable of. after all you KNEW he was going to miss his final collegiate kick, and even BET against him. man those griz coaches were just morons sending him out there to try that kick he was OBVIOUSLY going to miss. Now parcells follows in these idiots footsteps. and to think, they're probably going to be stupid enough to have him try a game winning 49 yarder sometime this season. and maybe on their own field!AlphaGriz1 wrote:http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3531243
do you have to know everything to post here? or just think you do?

WTG your right, I knew he was missing that kick and made money off of it.
I also never thought he would make it in the NFL and I was wrong.
Even someone as great as I, makes mistakes every now and again.
P.S. The greatness I spoke of above is purely self-proclaimed and I used the word "your" wrong again, in compliance with my "I refuse to use you're edit of 1998".

I'm not trying to put words in Alpha's mouth, but it was my understanding the bet was more against Hauck and the situation Carpenter was thrown into.whitetrashgriz wrote:well, hopefully he does better than you think he's capable of. after all you KNEW he was going to miss his final collegiate kick, and even BET against him. man those griz coaches were just morons sending him out there to try that kick he was OBVIOUSLY going to miss. Having said that, good for Carpenter. Given the anemic Miami offense, he'll no doubt have lots of attempts.

Can't see how that kick had anything to do with Hauck. Montana took over with 26 seconds left in the game. To get Carps to the 30 to attempt a FG -- a kick he'd make 19 out of 20 times -- says a hell of a lot if you ask me.

If you ignore the rest of the game prior to those 26 seconds.GrizinWashington wrote:Can't see how that kick had anything to do with Hauck. Montana took over with 26 seconds left in the game. Hauck didn't give up 11 of 16 first downs on third and fourth down. And he certainly didn't commit a false start on first and goal from the one foot line to salt the game away. Montana's game plan was fine for that game. Like Cal Poly, half the battle is keeping their offense off the field. Montana's TOP was almost equal to that of Wofford, which is rather remarkable.

Re: Carpenter makes the Dolphins
Carpenter parents live next door to my wife's cousin in Helena, and according to him, he is really a great kid, and comes from a great family. I wish him the best in the NFL, and really felt bad for him when he missed that kick against Wofford....didn't feel bad for UM as team however. The life of a kicker....you make tons of kicks to help your team win tons of games, but most fans only remember that last one that you missed. Plus, he better make it in the NFL, since that UM degree won't be very helpful if he ever has to get a job in the "real world"....just kidding.

Quit blaming the defense they played well enough to win that game.GrizinWashington wrote:Hauck didn't give up 11 of 16 first downs on third and fourth down. Just admit that everyone was right about our offense sucking ass for the last 5 years, there is no other explanation.
The defense gave our POS offense the ball 3 times in the first 7 plays of the game WTF do you want?
Our offense didn't score TD's, so what about the false start at the 1? That FG we got AGAIN didn't mean ****** but if we go for it on 4th down we win the game.

I have to agree. The offense had every opportunity to win that game and didn't do it. Carpenter did not have to be in that position if we take advantages of the opportunities we had.AlphaGriz1 wrote:Quit blaming the defense they played well enough to win that game.GrizinWashington wrote:Hauck didn't give up 11 of 16 first downs on third and fourth down.
