JD Quinn recent DUI charge dropped

Pleads down to a DUI per se on the previous arrest last year, was ticketed for mud flap violation and improper lane change on last week's stop.
He'll be doing community service as well, speaking at the high schools about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Okay, I gotta ask, what the F- is a "mud flap violation?" This sounds like one of those stupid only in Montana type jokes.

Big assumption BAC. Given how Hauck has handled these things in the past, a potential all-American candidate will be in the line up almost certainly by the time the Griz play their first D-1AA opponent.Bay Area Cat wrote:I assume Hauck will probably still suspend him for a couple games as punishment for getting another DUI charge (even if it was swapped out for a guilty plea to the previous DUI that was still in the courts), but if this teaches him to not do it ever again, it sounds like a good resolution to me.
I hope Hauck proves me wrong.

My good friend is a MHP in the Butte area. The mudflap violation is his favorite thing to write a ticket for. If he sees an erratic driver he pulls them over with that violation in mis back pocket and assesses the situation if they are cool they get a warning and alls good.
If anyone that he pulls over for speeding, erratic driving, etc and they are bit*chy or non compliant he nails them for the moving violation and hits them with a mud flap violation if it applies.
I am not certain what the height is but if you have a pickup or larger truck and your rear bumper is so far off the ground you have to have mudflaps to reduce things kicking up and flying off your tires.

It's just like my friend that has 4 DUI's and criticizes me for drinking and driving.

Wait. This seems incongruous Msla. Hauck suspended him for 4 games last year. Are you suggesting that was too light?? I think Hauck has done a very commendable job of disciplining kids no matter whom they are or how good they are. Do you have evidence to the contrary??mslacat wrote:Big assumption BAC. Yes, UM still has an express lane at the court house and the line never ends.
Hauck isn't doing enough, but kicking off a high profile repeat jagoff would sure send a message to the players fans and administration that he won't tolerate it anymore.
Bobbie needs highly talented players to squeak out wins because of his poor coaching staff, ability and in game decision making, so don't hold your breath.

He's not been repeatedly convicted. Repeatedly charged, yes. This was Mr. Quinn’s first lifetime DUI conviction.

An illegal lane change and mud-flap violation swept under the rug? He served a 3 game suspension for the DUI he plead to at the start of the '07 season.bozechiro wrote:Its unfortunate this will most likely get swept under the rug, like the rest of it.
I think there will be some reprecussions (sp?) for the arrest and bad press, but since the charges were dropped I don't see that there's anything else that even needs to be covered up.

No - After UM issued a "Zero Tolerance" policy... Quinn got arrested for a DUI, and he also talked to the media in an extremely embarassing interview after Bobby issued a "No players are allowed to talk to the media" mandate... and he got slapped on the wrist both times. Jason Washington skipped a workout and got kicked off the team. Don't try to tell me Bobby doesn't practice selective discipline.GrizinWashington wrote:Wait. This seems incongruous Msla. Ya I like the attitude "Its not an issue because it was just a mud flap citation" He is obviously a problem child the number of times he has been involved with the law, whether convicted or not. But the swept under the rug comment referred to all of the arrests at UM that have occurred and the university or Hauck have not made much of a statement about correcting it in any way.
Is it bowhunting season yet?

Re: JD Quinn recent DUI charge dropped
Re/Max, I don't care if he is always innocent, that isn't the point. Anyone that gets into situations like this repeatedly has a problem and doesn't deserve the multiple "chances" he gets. He is getting special treatment because he's an athlete.Re/Max Griz wrote:AlphaGriz1 wrote:I would always take note of a repeat offender telling me not to do something.Re/Max Griz wrote:http://www.egriz.com/GrizBoard/topic31250.php

Quinn, best case scenario is a complete moron of GF10 proportions. The fact he is arrested constantly is a warning flag to anyone that has their eyes open and head out of their..........

ya i couldnt imagine how tough it must be to play for the griz through all this. a new teammate gettin arrested just about every month. having to do punishment for their actions. why would you want to play for a team of criminals.
its awesome how we are all talkin about the problems over at UM. hardly any chatter at all about legal troubles in bozeman. looks like msu is becoming the classy football school of the state
