Recruit Duped

Apparently this kid was duped into thinking he had an offer from Cal. Rival has him rated at 5.2 "5.4-5.0 Division I prospect; considered a mid-major prospect; deemed to have limited pro potential but definite Division I prospect; may be more of a role player"

Perhaps Ash should step in. We can always use OL and this kid would be inclined to take any solid offer at this point.

Sounds to me like a case of being a Compulsive Liar:

Definition from ByeDr.com:

Where the person lies about little things that in the end would never end up mattering and a big thing is that they don't even know they're doing it even after being confronted, A compulsive liar is someone who cannot help but to lie. Their whole life is based on strictly telling lies...they know what the truth is, but they lie so much to themselves that they begin to believe their own lies as being true. These types feel a compulsion to lie all the time about things big and small.
