Oregon/Washington game
Oregon ran for over 460 yards against the Huskies this weekend and had nearly 700 yards of offense. Being at the game, it was unbelievable. UW couldn't stop them. It was embarrassing. Jonathon Stewert has my vote for best back in the nation. Give him the Heisman now.

I was also at the game. Best part was when Dixon faked to Stewart at their own 10 and a buncha Huskies gang tackled Stewart right there - the crowd went wild......till they saw Dixon scampering with the ball 40 yards down the fieldwhizonthegriz wrote:Oregon ran for over 460 yards against the Huskies this weekend and had nearly 700 yards of offense. Actually, Whoregon's success and the greatest of jizz success started mounting early in the nineties. It's no surprise that you're a fan of both of those teams, being about 20 years old and all.Nick wrote:lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:0regon _uck football.Nick wrote:I was also at the game. That's a great post, I was thinking the same thing. I remember when I use to feel sorry for both the griz and the ducks. They were the doormats of both conferences. It's funny to hear the fans of those teams talk about tradition.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Actually, Whoregon's success and the greatest of jizz success started mounting early in the nineties. They haven't NOT had a sell-out since the early 90s.
Look, I go to U of O that's why I cheer for them. I grew up near Missoula so I cheer for the Griz (and they were good before the 90s, as "The Streak" would tell us. Ducks and Griz fans are there through thick and thin.
That POS Husky Stadium was not even close to full Saturday, and for a rivalry game. Husky and Bobcat fans are the epitome of bandwagoners....ie in 1999 during the Griz-Cat game when MSU students were throwing trash at their own bench......Or the Washington fans (the ones who show up), throw their drinks on your car - batteries at your head - and still say "you suck" after you just whooped their ass to a 2-5 record.
Nice.

Autzen Stadium holds about half of what Husky Stadium holds. I have been to duck games that hardly had anyone.Nick wrote:2001 - when Oregon won the Fiesta Bowl?jagur1 wrote:Coming from a guy whos fan base started what 6 years ago?lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Actually, Whoregon's success and the greatest of jizz success started mounting early in the nineties. Husky stadium was almost full. It looked packed from my perspective, but I only saw 3/4 of it. At $65 a ticket (plus a minimum of $10 parking and a long walk for those who don't bus), that is pretty impressive for fans of a 2-5 team.
I tailgated and saw several Duck fans treated with respect--minus a few "...uck the Ducks". The Duck have no tradition, just look at there bowl record the past few years, a bunch of Seattle Bowl and Sun Bowl losses. For gosh sakes, as bad as the Huskies have been they at least have been to the Rose Bowl this decade. The Ducks haven't been to a Rose Bowl since the 50's. It seems like yesterday that I-AA teams were running up their backsides and then down the front.
I give credit to the Ducks this year so far. Jonathon Stewert is one heck of a back. Dixon is quality, too. Their defense is terrible, but they win most of the time. They chunked serious yardage against the Huskies. But Duck fans are idiots.

The Ducks are the winningest team in the Pac 10 over the last 15 years. Autzen Stadium is smaller but 10 times louder than that POS Husky Stadium. Husky fans are the only ones I know that have ever phyically threatened people from what I saw or thrown batteries when little kids were around.whizonthegriz wrote:Husky stadium was almost full. Husky fans at their finest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPxyVGOFpKM It's great to watch the rest of the Pac 10 piss on them year after year.

The Duck fans used to (still do?) leave the stadium by way of the football field. Several schools, including Washington, have complained because the Oregon fans are then brushing up against opposing players, taunting, dumping beer, etc. The AD refused to change the policy--class act. I was talking to an Arizona State fan and he said the only Pac-10 stadium that he will never go back to is Autzen Stadium
What has the Ducks winning over the last 15 seasons accomplished for them? How about the last five? A Las Vegas Bowl loss, a Holiday Bowl loss, no bowl, a Sun Bowl loss, and a Seattle Bowl loss. Before you crow about your Fiesta Bowl appearance in 2001, remember the Huskies won the Rose Bowl that year.

I'm sure it is quite easy for Duck fans to recall all 3 Rose Bowl appearances their team has made. It is kind of a once in every 3 generation thing. Haley's Comet is spotted more often than a Duck Rose Bowl celebration. Do you hear stories from your great, great, grandpa recalling the glory days of the 1917 victors?jagur1 wrote:Wrong Rose Bowl vrs Penn State the Year Penn went undeafeted but NE won the title. Oregon is a full-blown national powerhouse with excellent facilities and as much money as they ever need (Thanks Nike). They are favored to beat USC Satruday. UW is on the backside of suffering through mismanagement, corruption, revolving coaches and angry alumns. Oregon played at the top of their game, almost mistake free through the first half. But what amazed me the most is how, when it looked early in the second quarter like Oregon was on their way to a blowout, the young Huskys came fighting back.
Losses of 44-31 to UCLA and 27-24 to USC were not an embarrassment. Leading Ohio State at half time was interesting. They are capable of winning any or all of their four remaining games; Arizona, Stanford, WSU and Hawaii. Locker isn't the only youngster on the field. Next year they will compete. In two years they will contend.
