Anyone else think USF got a complete hose-job?

That blocked FG USF returned for a TD that got overturned was complete BS, not to mention the phantom PI penalty at the end.

Even the ESPN commentators were rooting for USF to lose - definite favoritism towards Rutgers. I lost a lot of respect for Doug Flutie, and Craig James is a pompous jerk. They totally disrespected USF all night long, insinuating that they didn't deserve the #2 ranking. F****** haters.

I think that PI penalty should not have been called his hands went through the motions but it was really just feeling where the defender was rather than a push off.

I was rooting for Rutgers myself but I agree that was a bad call.

Looked like a push-off to me, also looked like he didn't really need to do it, the corner wasn't facing him and there was no saftey help.

I don't know if you recognize this or not, but NO ONE who works at ESPN and is on radio or TV likes the "Cinderellas" winning and getting ranked in the BcS! My favorite sport is by far college football and I've paid pretty close attention to these guys for a long time and they all despise the thought of having to "let someone else into" their elite group of college football powers. Sure, they root for and commend teams that upset some of the "big boys" once in awhile, but once you get to week 6,7,8 in the season they become haters of the non-big-time-tradition/history schools because they don't want to have to work that hard! They don't want to see parity or up-an-comers trying to join the party because its just not fair or possible for any of these places to be as "good" as FSU, OU, Texas, Ohio State (Herbstreit is BY FAR the worst!!), USC, Miami, Florida, etc.

It's a very sad situation for true college football fans.

Are you kidding me? ESPN loves these Cinderellas. It is cheaper and easier for them to go to these games that get much more viewers because now the smaller teams when they play eachother have national implications there for more opportunity to gain viewers.

They (ESPN) likes them for awhile, until it means Boise State plays in the Fiesta! Take a look at the TV ratings for that game...TERRIBLE compared to what they would have been if it would have been ANY other team from a BcS conference against OU. If you don't believe me, you don't understand TV audiences...the NLCS this year (Colorado vs Arizona), while everyone was talking about how great these Cinderella's seasons were, got smaller ratings than the LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES, not "cheaper and easier!"

Sorry, if it ain't a "big time program" TV ratings suffer...its just a fact!

Turdstreit didn't show much love for Ape State until he looked like an ass after the fact. Ditto for USF had they gone undefeated. He said ad nauseam last week how LSU would be more deserving of a shot at the national title even if USF finished undefeated while having already beaten two Top 10 teams (Auburn and WVU).

These guys like the idea of the Cinderfella until it actually happens and subverts the paradigm. Then all they do is back pedal because their bluff was called.
