NDSU D-1A?

I have to admit, NDSU is looking GREAT! These guys are rolling and they are only a couple of years into 1-AA. Honestly, why wouldn't they go to 1-A? They KILLED Western Michigan and should have beat Minnesota last year (a Big Ten team). These guys are for real, and should capitalize now. I wish they were in the Big Sky, but at the same rate I am happy as hell they aren't (let's be honest Northern Colorado is a gimme). Fargo is a booming city, and there is some serious dollars floating around. Given the right situation they could make a move that would permit them to be in a Mid Major conference.

They beat Central, not Western, Michigan---not that it matters.[/b]

They are probably the best team in IAA this year. I guarantee you that the Griz will never schedule them again. The only way they will play them will be in the playoffs, and will lose again to them.

Grow some hair or post on a girly-man board. Anyone who lobbies to have a poster banned should wear panties.

Mods, can we please move this posters sh*t to the SMACK board?
Thanks.

Shut up you nO0b. I was being sarcastic for on the SMACK board non the less I was the one being asked to be banned. Don't talk to me about message board etiquette. UM and MSU are in the same boat this year, leave the smack for after the season.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that NDSU is still not eligible for the playoffs....maybe not even next year yet???? Can anyone explain the logic behind making these D-II/I-AA transfer schools wait so long until being allowed into the playoffs? That makes absolutely no sense to me. I thought that NDSU was the only team in the nation that might have given Appy State a run for their money last year, and it looks like they are at least as good again this year.

Remind us again why MSU backed out of a trip to Fargo this year?
I'm sure the Bison fans can.

They will be eligible next year... I believe it's a 4 year acclimation period. I have no idea why it exists and it's got to just kill the NDSU fans to know that the Bison would be making some serious noise in the playoffs last year and this year if there were eliglble.

I am not a frequent smack talker...so I'm not trying to jump into something here.
But I think the reason was because Texas A&M had to move the date of our game with them. Obviously we took the $400K payday, and had to buy out our NDSU game. Which is also how we ended up with Dixie State (we had a date that we needed to fill).
My memory could be very fuzzy on this, but I think this is what happened. If someone else knows for sure, or if I am wrong please post it.
Edit: sorry guys....from the tone of this thread, I seriously thought this was on the smack board. I'll double check next time.

Geez, we agree.
And the doomsday clock just moved 2 minutes closer to midnight.

Hmm, which was the last team in the state of Montana to lose to them?
Oh right, it was the Griz.

I don't think that NDSU is at all considering a jump to DI-A or FBS. we need to play in the FCS.....good grief, we are not even playoff eligible yet!

Good one
I think you're the laughing stock of that conference after Cal Davis gave you your worst home loss since the Griz spanked you in Bozo in `99.
3 D-IIs in the past few years rolled over you at home vs our one point loss so I wouldn't be talking

I don't see NDSU moving up to I-A. The Bison struggled enough just to get into the Mid-Con(now called Summit League) and the Gateway(next year).
Which conference would they move to? No way they move until maybe 10-15 years. They would need a bigger stadium for football and they really need a new basketball arena right now.
There were lots of people that didn't think NDSU would transition well into DI and when the Big Sky rejected the Bison there were even more doubters. These doubters were mostly media people but still...

Well, I sure as hell don't see UM scrambling to schedule a home-and-home with NDSU. Then again, I don't see the Griz scheduling a home-and-home with ANYONE of note in the near future.
I would have LOVED for the Cats to play NDSU this season. Much rather have played them than Dixie. At least we would have some sort of a measuring stick to see how good we really are. We
know NDSU has a good team. Who knows about the Big Sky this year. Hell, EWU may end up being the best team when it is all said and done...
