FCS to get Coaches Poll

The FCS will have a coaches poll for 2007, with Ash as one of the voters:

New FCS coaches poll coming this season

A new weekly top 25 poll from a panel of head coaches from the Football Championship Subdivision will be launched in August through the Collegiate Commissioners Association and the American Football Coaches Association.

The poll will involve 28 head coaches from 14 FCS conferences and will be housed on a newly-created FCS Web page that also will feature conference scores and standings and features about FCS programs and players.

The Southern Conference will operate the poll and Web page during the 2007 season.

The FCS Coaches Poll will start with a preseason version Aug. 20 and continue through the end of the regular season. The final poll will be released on Nov. 19 prior to the first round of the FCS championship playoffs which start Nov. 24.

Big Sky Conference coaches participating on the poll will be Rob Ash of Montana State and Jerome Souers of Northern Arizona
