Sad Deal
This is a very unfortunate incident for all the people involved.
I do not take any joy in this, as it is a sad deal.
But, maybe the Griz fans around will come to their senses, and see that bad things happen. I am so tired of being patronized by Griz fans, saying "You Bobcats will be OK, you just made some bad choices on some questionable kids. If you would have just went after some good ole' Montana kids, you would have a clean program like us."
People, lie, cheat, steal, do drugs, and sell drugs. If we all knew who these kids were, they would be arrested before they were able to get to the football field. My point is....
I'm sure the Griz as well as the Cats, are both trying to recruit the best student/athletes possible. Keep in mind when a "regular" student is busted, it is not front page news.

Please, please people check for existing threads before posting. This is now the fifth thread started on this since last night. I'll give you a hint if you can't figure out why you didn't see it, this has nothing to do with Bobcat Athletics, so it likely isn't going to be on the Bobcat Athletics board.

Or we could all just take the high road, realize that all schools have trouble at some time and not throw smack around about unfortunate incidents, even subtle smack against other fanbases. Hmm, there's a novel idea.Cat_gld wrote:Stay tuned. I'm sure in a following thread you'll see something like "your school has more thugs than our school."Glendive Cat wrote:I hope this ends all the comments (and jokes) from the other side of the state. Bad things can happen to anyone at anytime.

I could not agree more with Forever Blue. While I also agree that we should take the high road, and that this is a very unfortunate incident for all concerned, I too have been sick to death of all of the comments that if only MSU stopped recruiting all of those out of state, inner city, "high risk" kids, all in the name of feebly attempting to compete with the "mighty Griz", then we would not have had all of these problems. To hear them talk, you would think that UM's roster was filled with nothing but good, church-going, God fearing, Montana choirboys. I was stunned....STUNNED....to find out that UM apparently had at least one out of state, inner city, "high risk"(?) kid on their roster as well.

Maybe also because the incident happened in California? The story is certainly still relevant to Montana......but only in that involves a player for the Griz. Just a thought.....crazycat wrote:As for the papers not getting this on the front page keep in mind that this story didn't hit the wire until almost 10:00 last night, so who knows when they were spotted and pages were already laid out in some cases.
However, if this isn't front page news tomorrow that will be a strange development.

Tampa Griz wrote about the Wilson incident happening in Californina, and therefore perhaps being not quite as relevant as MSU's issues. Which brings me to a point that I have been trying to make ever since 5/18. If Gatewood, Davis, Sullivan, et al. had all left Bozeman upon leaving the FB program, and become involved in a "drug cartel" in New York or Tampa, this would have been a "non story" about which few Montanans would even have known, and even fewer would have cared. Certainly, I have no doubt that if the drug activity had occurred on the east coast, then Coach Kramer would still have his job. But what relevance, really, should the location of these activities have upon the job status of these players current or former coaches? What is the difference, really, whether these arrests happened in Bozeman or Missoula, versus southern California?
