PSU Question

Post by kcatz » Mon May 14, 2007 11:30 am

Last night on the news they ran a report on Portland State. I have 2 questions that are lingering:

1. PSU had their spring scrimage on Saturday. Why so late, is the rule that you can have 15 practices in 30 days, but he 30 days can be whenever as long as school is still in session?

2. They reported that PSU and Jerry Glanville had sold 55,000 season tickets, more than for the whole season last year. What? was it supposed to be 5500 season tickets, or maybe 55,000 total (5 home games x # of season tickets) or did the news make a mistake (very probable)?

Come on Vikings, I know some of you stop by frequently how many season tickets have you sold.

You might try going to http://www.psufans.com and asking there if you don't get a response.

Huge article in the Seattle Times yesterday (Sunday) about Glanville and the whole PSU Viking thing.

Sunday's Oregonian said they were slightly over 1100 season tickets including 119 sold at the scrimmage.

This is higher than their total number last year and they have not gotten the renewals from last year back yet. They are hoping to get back to drawing 10,000 / game like they did in the glory days of D-2. Of course they were fun to watch then.

The number is $55,000 DOLLARS worth of season's tickets, not 55,000 season tickets.

Thanks! I doubted the the news (local, live and late breaking) had gotten it right, I mean it hadn't even appeared in the Chronicle yet so how would Troy Oppie have discovered it?

Isn't that about the value of the hamburgers and hot dogs the proprietor of Ferraro's and the R Bar gives away each Cats home game? Weird, huh?

I don't think Ralph's tab amounts to quite that much per game.
