No, you got it all wrong LIG25. MSU is preseason champs. UM is spring ball champs. They proved it again this year just like 5700 said.

A "pretty talented" Griz team gets your attention I guess. Haha

Which is better? Spring ball champs or pre-season champs?

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Pfffft, or maybe Stitt is 90% focused on offense and your defense is going to suck now due to losing a bunch of talent and TG?

This could turn into an EPIC match up every year. Two national champs going at it. Played in July, in Two Dot....their stadium will hold the hoards of people that care. But one stipulation; all players have to be recently active BN or eGriz posters. Wahlberg and VIM as coaches. We'll know once and for all who is the UNDISPUTED off-season champ!

A few ground rules:

Unlimited timeouts. Nobody wants to see old fat dudes puking after 2 plays
Every time eGriz scores, BN has to sing "Keep it Grizzly". eGrizzers have to sing Blue Bobcat Cup when BN scores.
Alpha and PlayerRep have to "hug it out" if they win. PapaG has to hug it out with....well.....everybody.
Payton is NOT allowed to bet on the game
Game must end prior to 6am....with all other pre-6am duties fulfilled (helping an elderly woman cross the street, adopting a homeless puppy, etc.)

I'm open to more ideas because I'm sure I missed some really important ones.......

This game has to be played prior to 6am or it just flat won't mean anything.

^ THIS ^

Stitt wants more than a BSC championship and a 1st or 2nd round playoff loss. His plan became accelerated while we were still on the field last year against NDSU. That's what he wants.
Ya, we all know what he wants, and what he's trying to do. Just like almost every other coach in the FCS, he wants to try to find a way to dethrone NDSU. Bringing in 50 new players in one year seems a bit extteme. Time will tell if the experiment will work or not.
I'd say he's done an extremely good job evaluating Montana athletes in the short time he's been here. Trevor Hoerner from Columbia Falls just got offered a full scholarship and if I were a betting type of individual, I'd bet there'll be a few more Montana kids with that fire and something to prove to those with the sense of entitlement that high school accolades don't mean squat in this coaches eyes. Thus far, I'm impressed with the group of kids he has offered going into next year.

Just make it after the 1July street dance.
And we all meet up at the world famous Two Dot Bar after the game for breakfast and beer. Might even snow this year.

Yes, they're officially up to 50 new players this year
Are you sure? I don't see a link to anything about these players signing at UM.
No not completely sure. Just going off social media, egriz, and um's recently published roster. egriz is saying there's 3 more walk-ons coming, bringing the grand total now to 53

A year ago, as the Nebraska native took over at UM after a lengthy stay with NCAA Division II Colorado School of Mines, he encountered a locker room of division. The fracturing furthered throughout the season, those committed to the old guard and defensive coordinator Ty Gregorak against those open to adaptation.

"It was a split team, defense on the left, offense on the right," Stitt recalled. "I'd never been in a locker room like that to where it was so split.

"We're not an offense and a defense any more, and that's what we were. We were a split football team. You've got to become a team, just Griz."

Stitt asked his players to buy in to his message. Many did. Many more did not, leading to a record recruiting class that's reached into the 40s to replace massive swaths of the roster.

Advancement came, slowly at first but quicker and quicker like water trickling from a crack in a dam. Coaches spoke with players who leaned on other players, furthering the reach. Accountability, hard work and dedication would be the only way.

Blah Blah Blah... prove it on the field Stitt. I don't think the Griz D will be any better under the new guy than it's been under TG for over a decade, but at least we'll all find out soon enough.
