Excellent point! Those who continually belittle those in the arena tend to be irrelevant in their lives and personal relationships. Very few coaches I know ever visit message boards and seldom give free advice. Vernon Adams doesn't have anything left to prove in our conference.BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote:A guy who can play like that probably doesn't read the message boards. I doubt there's anybody on this board or egriz or whatever board EWU has who could offer constructive criticism that would be relevant to making VA a better quarterback.PapaG wrote:Oh, I have a pretty good idea, Vernon. Some bitter EWU fans on a EWU message board would be the first place to start if he actually cared, but I'm sure he doesn't.
http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.s ... n_fin.htmlIn recent weeks, his academic status became message-board fodder in the Northwest, with rumors that he was failing classes on the cusp of joining the Ducks (he signed a financial aid agreement with UO shortly after announcing his plan to transfer).
Adams called the chatter "crazy," and that he didn't know where they originated.

Re: Vernon "No Degree" Adams
This could be what gave rise to the rumors:

I'm not sure how something like this comes about ... how does he end up with incompletes in classes and still needing to pass some "math tests" in order to graduate this long after the session ended? It's definitely not the standard path to graduation, so I could see how it would make some people nervous and/or lead to some rumors.
I guess the title of this thread is still accurate ... at least until VA gets these incompletes taken care of. Given the stakes, I would have thought he would have taken care of all of this by now.

As usual I'll take the high road and just say I hope he doesn't have personal or family issues that caused him to miss those math tests.

At least its cleared up, or appears to be, as I can't imagine Oregon wouldn't have admitted him without clearance from EWU.
Will be tough coming in August 5th and missing out on the summer workouts.
Papa, serious question, what do you think odds are Adams starts? Lockie is pretty good and their freshman has a ton of hype...Lockie has basically been the man from the spring on and looked good, and the delay in Adams graduating really hurt him this summer. Thoughts...

He can enroll today for Grad school, be admitted, and start summer workouts with position coaches tomorrow. Class registration has no impact on his enrollment status. It's not the same as an incoming freshman.marceag wrote:At least its cleared up, or appears to be, as I can't imagine Oregon wouldn't have admitted him without clearance from EWU.

I think it's 90% he starts. His arm is too big, while Lockie's is average at best. With the speed Oregon has at WR this year, Adam's arm is crucial to stretch the field. Lockie is a solid back-up, but does nothing at an elite level.

Adams, at a minimum, is a top 20 college quarterback in the nation. Only way he doesn't start is he gets hurt or has off field issues. IMO he'll be very effective.
USC, however, will win the PAC and the national championship. Fight On!
