It's almost dead-even since they stopped wearing leather helmets, AND since we were playing in the same DIVISION!

Thank you for saying that....
Always amazed(probably shouldn't be) how often the overall record is stated
without taking into account not even playing in the same division.....kind of a big point to miss

No, we're all over there still informing them how cold and loud it's going to be

If we gerrymander it to cover only the last 60 years (1953 and thereafter), the Griz won 34 and the Cats won 27. Nobody has claimed the Griz had a 60-year win streak.

I started my tally in 1956, since that's when MSU's 30 years of dominance began, and since then UM leads 31-27. But we all know that the Cats are going to win the next two

, so for my gerrymandered 60-year period, the count is (or at least will be) 31-29. I know you may have some trouble following my logic, but trust me...it makes perfect sense to Cat fans.

How comparing playing in the
same division becomes gerrymandering, I will never know.

We could start the comparison at when we both moved up to the FCS (1-AA) level

Nah! I'm ok with starting when the BSC was formed, which, I believe is the first time the two teams faced off at the same level.
50 years is a good round number. We're still a little short, but that makes it 22-28.

Whatever year you choose to start the count, my sense is any year the Cats lost will be called the "wrong" year to start.

Of course, and your point is...
Unfortunately, even doing it that way, we're always going to be slightly behind, but at least it's much closer.

Wow another uneducated, pissed-at-the-world Cat fan. You realize how asinine you sound by slamming the Griz and claiming they will get ****** by the Bison or CC for that matter. You do realize that this is the same Griz team that destroyed your kitty cats in your back yard knocking them out of the playoffs all together and sending your best Senior class packing for Thanksgiving at home this year. If CC or the Bison destroy the Griz what does that say about the huge pile of ****** the Cats took this year. What does that say about the Cats not even wanting to play the Bison this year in an attempt to keep their record strong and make a run at a National title. That worked out really well for ya didn't it. Continue being a bitter Cat fan pouting bc your team and your fan base will be watching the Griz in the playoffs while you sit and wonder what happened to your so-called National title season of dreams go down the toilet. Sorry if this hurts your feelings....but truth hurts doesn't it.
All right you dumb f--- grizzly fans, I've heard this argument enough in this thread I'm about to snap. We didn't "bail" on the NDSU game to improve our record for the playoffs, are you nuts? We scheduled a division 1 game AT SMU instead of playing NDSU. We had to take that money game to pay Monmouth to come to Bozeman so we could whup up on them. But to say that we cancelled an FCS game because we were chickens@#$ to play them or because we were worried about it on our record is just a typical reaction from another dumbass griz fan (which is to say a normal griz fan). If somebody covered this later in the thread, sorry, I just got to this doofus post and had to respond.

NDSU was #24 in the wide open Sagarin rating, the last I saw. Is SMU at 5-6 anywhere in the top 100?

Just an observation from one of those dumb f--- grizzly fans. There are some griz fans that come over here just to get a response like you just gave. They are called trolls. You are giving them what they want. I personally agree with the buyout of NDSU. Your Texas kids got to play in front of family, you got a home game out of it, and you got a boost to the local economy. I never complained when the griz did it. Many local businesses do a lot for the university and the more home games they get the better it is for them.

I don't think griznationalist is a troll, he is just a typical ahole griz fan. Most of you guys don't see it the way you do grizatwork. They just have a painfully annoying way of taking the cancelling of the NDSU game and some how twisting it with griz logic so that they can extrapolate it into a reason why they are so much better than the Cats, since after all, they are so much more bad ass because they scheduled game with NDSU next season. And of course, the Griz would never ever buy out of a game against someone with a good Sagrin rating...blah blah blah...sorry I'm ranting.

Agree 100% I have plenty of friends that are griz fans and we give each other lots of sh** especially around Cat-griz, but although we are friends we NEVER root for each others side. Don't even have the argument about it being a Montana team or anything like that. It is understood, they hate the Cats-I hate the Griz and we are both hoping for each others demise every time the other team takes the field. My two favorite college football teams are the Cats and whoever is playing the Griz and I expect the same on the other side.

What have you been smoking. If they were playing Iraq I would have a towel on my head and a camel for a mascot and cheering for Iraq.

Yep, that was certainly stupid.
Of course, you could find countless threads on this board and on eGriz with Cat fans mocking the Griz after their losses in the NC game. That, too, was stupid.
I swear there are fans on both sides who seem to get more pleasure out of the other losing than their own team winning.
