If anything, they should have been relegated to FCS years ago....
The real issue remaining is what the BSC will do to keep the integrity they have spent 30 years building in this conference, not raiding and jumping to another conference every few years to make a buck.. It's not all about the money (it helps) but FCS is not going to outspend the $$$ programs.
Regarding the first part of your post, I agree that UI boosters and alumni don't really seem willing to pony up the dough that would be required to develop UI into a legitimate I-A program. But that doesn't mean that the majority of them are in favor of moving back to the BSC. If you spend any time on their board, you'll quickly discover that they are collectively the most delusional fan base in the country. UI's fans seem to want a "big time" program on a I-AA budget.

I don't really even understand the second part of your post. Are you referring to the new teams that joined the BSC? I don't know that I'd say the BSC "raided" the GWC. With only 5 members, it's long term viability was very questionable. UND probably would have joined the MVC along with USD, if we hadn't taken them, and the other 3 schools only other option would have been to go independent.
UND should go to the MVC and then we could add Idaho and New Mexico State :)
