And you're sure that the players knew that fans were booing the play calling and not the players? And you're sure that all the booing fans were booing for the same reason?
When Cat fans boo, they booed the refs.
Seriously though, of course there are fans that have booed at Cat games, but I honestly have not seen the kind of vitriol that I saw last year (over the TV coverage) from some of the fans towards what was going on on the field. I agree that most of it was probably directed at coaching and play calling, but I do think that it's tough for the players to determine a distinction.

I think that the large amount of booing at some Griz games reflect the high level of frustration that so many Griz fans have with the offense under Phenicie. Griz fans are spoiled by 15 years of high octane offense. They get really antsy when the "o" sputter and spits like it did most of last season.

Wow. This thread got dug up from the dredges.
Funny thing, though. I watched the last two cat games and I heard distinct booing.

Must have been the refs they were booing
The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

You heard booing at the Griz games? Why would that happen? They destroyed both opponents. I can see why it occured last season, but not so far this season.
I still think the true verdict is still out on how good the Griz are. Noone can really judge this team from the SDSU and Sac. St. games, as both teams were horrible. We will know much more after the PSU game, in my opinion.

No, I watched the two CAT games on DVD and heard booing. Not a lot of booing the last few weeks in WaGriz.

Bump-
There were some interesting predictions in this thread. Looks like all prognosticators that thought the Griz would lose "4 games minimum" were a little off.

Yes. Either a LOT of people on this board who don't know much about football, or a lot of people trying to see life by looking around very large blue and gold blinders.
I love the posts about NO WAY the Griz win all those road games, and the guarantees that they lose four games MINIMUM. (and that was only on the first page; I couldn't stand reading any further).
Most Griz fans appeared to be pretty close, with predictions between 10-1 and 8-3.

Yup! 10 - 1, that was me!!!!! I had some interesting reactions to my prediction as well.
Not just from Cat fans either!
By the way, I'm glad you dug this thread back up. I was thinking about doing it but didn't want to gloat. I'll save my gloating for Thanksgiving Day!!!

Man, I must admit I missed this prediction--only because they play in the Big Sky

Couldn't have done it without the zebras

Yeah it's pretty obvious the referees were the reason we won nine games in a row..

No...the fact is a 28 yard field goal with 6 seconds left won the game ...that's a fact. Your "fact" is bobcat blue eyed conjecture..

Actually the game being pushed back to 12:37 will work in favor for the Griz. The Cat's have had about a week and a half of getting ready for a 12:05 kickoff. Schedule has now changed and the Cat's are all set to be done playing about 2:50. That should be about the start of the 4th quarter!

No doubt one or two calls don't make a game, but a good friend of mine that is a big Griz fan told me Sunday he thought the Griz got a break from the refs.
I have no idea, I didn't see the game but coming from a not so objective Griz fan, was interesting.
The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.

Give the devil his due. Their schedule this year includes 3 conference games where their opponent had an open week before they played them (NAU, Weber State, and the Cats). That's a heck of an advantage in terms of getting healthy and implementing a game plan. If they go either 10-1 or hopefully 9-2, that's pretty impressive either way when you remember that they've played without their best player Hilliard. Of course, if they flameout in the playoffs again, it's really all for naught.
